Desert Lullaby

[Altairas]

The marauders that were traveling so close to the party all stopped in there tracks with the mans use of his eco. There guns stopped firing and over the roar of the pumped up engine you could hear their yowls of frustration. Leo took a deep breath, slouching back in his seat as he finally let go of his eco. Relief flooded through his limbs as he did so and a laugh erupted from his lips. The eco users voice exclaimed over the radio and Leo could do nothing more then turn his head to Shinrah and continue laughing. He patted infront of him grabbing the radio and composing himself so he could speak.

" W00ooo! Thanks man for saving our skins back there. Where are you heading out here?" Leo asked taking his finger off the radio to listen for a response. " If he is going towards the temple, I wouldn't mind having him come with us down there. "

Ku saw the man fly past him and the Marauders behind him strop abruptly.
He picked up the radio and said,"Thanks for saving our hides! Or at least mine!" He sat back in his seat and sighed, his hands shaking heavily.

[Tatsu]

As the monk dug into the cliff a gust of wind picked up. It was heavy and especially where he was. He leaned back to feel the breeze in his face, to cool off a little when suddenly he tipped back. He mind raced as he predicted the outcome, he falls, his head hits the solid ground and he dies. What a lovely outcome.

However that didn’t happen instead his legs caught on the seat and hanged there looking down at the ground. “Wonderful.” He said optimistically. His hands held onto the ropes for dear life, how would he get down now? Maybe jumping or swinging to the cliff would help but that was a slight possibility.

The monk sighed. “It would be nice if some people came over…” He gave a chuckle at that fact.

Rawling made a U-Turn towards the rest of the travelers. "I'm headed off to the temple. You going?" His hands were killing him. Next stop he'll have to patch them up. But until then he's headed to the temple.

[Neki]

Shinrah took a breath in, grinning and laughing with Leo.
"Not that was fun. Other than the little scare here of now having two sparky people, Eh Sparky?" She aimed the last question at him and smiled. Precursors knew it had been a great ride even with the surpise at the end. She took the radio from Leo after hearing where everyone was going. She took a big breath in, laughing again before she started to speak.

"Okay everyone. Since it seems we're all headed in the same general direction we need to do a buggy check. I'm pretty sure there will be some holes in our wonderful mechanical transports and we need to see if anything vital was hit. If they are we'll have to travel the rest of the way by leaper." She finished her little update and looked at Leo.

" I'm pretty sure we're safe here for the moment. If we can get everyone together in a close formation we'll have a better chance if we meet marauders again. That, and I think we lost some of the supplies." She looked in the back of the car. A few packs had bulletholes, and she noticed one missing. She grumbled and pulled out a small leather book, her journal. Then she pulled out a blue book with similar maps in it. Jaythens book.

"I think we can do this. If what we've traveled through is any indication this is going to only get better."

Rawling pulled up next to Leo and Shinrah and turned off his buggy. He carefully climbed out, trying not to put himself in even more pain. "How's it?" He asked pulling off the yellow, smiling bandanna off his face. He then look at his hand. It was charred with a gruesome open wound in the middle. He slowly pulled off his glove grimacing as he did from the pain.

He had to get this hand fixed. He held his hand palm up and close his eyes. He focused on healing his hand of its wound and could feel the light eco flow through his arm and into the wound. It glew a white light for a few seconds then subsided revealing a fresh hand. "HA! Nice! Never had to do that before!" He put his glove back on and he could see the burnt hole in it clearly. "Oh well."

Rawling went around the side closest to the two to inspect for damages. "You guys doing alright? That was intense." He noticed a couple of bullet hole in the side. And in the back bullet hole in his pack. Some of his tools were shot but he could probably still use them.

Ku pulled up next to Shinrah and Rawling. He turned off the buggy as well and hopped out of his buggy. He was still breathing heavily from the exciting adventure, but he knew that was more to come.
He said,"I'll probably have to go along on a Leaper. My buggy is totally shot." He looked at the large dents and bullet holes left inside of it and hung his head low.

Leo sat silently as Shinrah left the buggy and talked to the traveling party. He really didn't want to get out and then have to fumble around so he could re enter the buggy. With a sigh he made his decision and climbed out. He didn't want to come off as rude to the man who had just saved there asses right? With some shaky footsteps he walked through the sand, the familiar crunch it made creating a song in his ears. He could almost see the endless dunes around him, the orange glow of the desert greeting him in as the sun crept out from behind the wall of mountains.

That was before he tripped over his own two feet landing face first into the sand. "Fuuuuu" He mumbled, spitting out the grains of sand that had entered his mouth. Precursors I have to look like such an idiot. With a small grunt he lifted himself up, and shook off the grains of sand that stuck to his clothing. " Well nice to meet all of you." He said smiling, his cheeks flushing with embarrassment. "So uh whats the damage report?" He asked running a nervous his hand through this hair.

[Neki]

Shinrah moved over to Ku's car first, since he said it was toast. Unfortunately, she had to agree. The armor was shot to hell and the wheels had taken too much damage to be able to take on the sand. And it looked liike his weapons were damaged. She whistled as she looked at it.

" Ku, it seems your car took the brunt of the damage, which is lucky for you. I can't tell if your supplies are any good, so you might want to take a look at those." She moved over to Rawlings car next. There were a few holes in the armor, but other than that it seemed pretty good. She nodded and went to thier car. Agin, holes, but not enough to screw up the vehicle. She gave a slight sigh of relief. Shinrah was moving around when she saw Leo fall and get back up, mumbling to himself. She chuckled slightly so that he wouldn't hear. She didn't want him to be angry.

" Okay, so now that thats over with....." She pulled the beaten journals out again and opened one. It showed where the temple was, and some of the passages through it. She quickly traced one with her finger, the one most likely not to get them killed. A few were marked as caved in, which she ignored. Obviously they wouldn't be going that way. Shinrah moved closer to Leo to ask him what he thought about it.

" Leo, we can take the mountain passage to get there or go underground. I want to know which you think would be better."

Ku pulled out his bag and saw his strap cut. He sighed and tied it into a small knot before putting it on. He grabbed the other bag and saw the small burn marks on it. He slid that into his larger bag and sighed.
He said,"Everything is okay...cept for the buggy."

Ku saw Leo get up and smiled lightly to himself. He wiped some sand off of his own clothes.
He said,"If I might give an opinion, I think we should take the mountain passage. If we go underground, there's lightly be a chance that there are more Marauders."
