Desert Lullaby

Rawling nodded hard "Hell yeah!" Then he punched it, spun out, sped off kicking up a lot of dust. It wasn't long before Marauders began chasing him. Three cars to be exact. Rawling didn't let up on the gas but he was trying to avoid them as they began shooting.

But they were successful. One of them him the frame his to Rawling face. He swerved the car in the surprise of sparks in his eyes. Rawling fed up now. He had to get these guys off his tail. So being the thrill seeker he is he decided to creative.

He stopped the wheels by pressing hard on the brake and turn hard to drift across the sand until he was turned around 180 degrees and went into reverse. He was facing his pursuers. With a sarcastic wave he fired the machine guns on the from of the Screamer. A barrage of bullet pummeled one of the marauder vehicles. He rapidly slowed down before it exploded.

Rawling was driving backwards shooting as the marauders with the seemingly infinite amount of ammo in the machine guns. But like the first one the other two shared the same fate. He then slammed on the brakes and skid to a stop that almost made the car flip over.

There was more.. a lot more. As if someone had tipped off that they were going to the temple today. As if they were the primary target. "I might have to use my eco.." He started thinking of a better way to get rid of these guys. Then it came to him. Got on the radio in hopes that those people could hear him, "Guys can you here me!? I've have an idea! Get them to follow you and have them circling the leaper pens! I know you guys don't know me but trust me on this!

Ku said,"Whatever will get these guys off my back!" Ku sped up, making enough space between himself and Marauders. He then quickly turned his buggy around and shot through the space between the two Marauders. The Marauders quickly turned and sped after Ku.

Ku looked around for the pen, never seeing it before made it quite difficult, but finally saw the electric fence. He began driving through the ruins near the pen, the Marauders following behind him.
Ku thought,"These guys never give up! And where is everyone else?" He swerved around a large ruined building and quickly shifted gears, speeding away from the pen again with three more Marauders after him.

The sounds of gunfire, the shouting people, the crackling radio and the dunebuggys engines were too much for Leo to take in at the same time. He ducked his head down and covered his ears eco crackling up and down his arms. "HOW CLOSE ARE WE TO THE PENS?" He shouted, the car lurching as it changed direction on the shifting sand. Maybe this was a bad idea. He thought before the sound of explosions and falling shrapnel interrupted him.

"Leo, this is going to be hard, but I need you to try to find bullets in the air and make them swerve around us if you can. I can't do it myself, and I'm going to drive us out of this mess." Leo heard the request and shook his head a bit to protest. "I never used my eco like that. . . I uh. . ." He stuttered flinching again as another barrage of bullets were sent there way. Your not going to sit here and let everyone around you die! He growled at himself, the visions of his team flickered infront of him.

"I'll try. . ." He whispered trying to get control of the eco that crackled across his body. He took a deep breath, feeling the eco creeping around him. He mentally grabbed at it, and the archs around his body dissipated. He bit his lip and squinted his eyes shut as the another explosion ripped through the air. He took another deep breath stiffing his shaking limbs.

He faintly feel Shinrah's gun, as well as the metal frame of the buggy around him. He concentrated harder letting his eco arch and swirl around him. He could feel the quickened metal rip though the air around them. I just need to deflect them . . . or attract them. . . He thought, trying to keep focused on both his eco and the bullets.

Quickly he raised his hands infront of his body, sparks or blue crackling madly across them. He concentrated only on the metal of the bullets and almost automatically the bullets started collecting around Leo's hands. Stopping as the entered the blue field of electricity. [/color]

Rawling searched for the cars but he went for the one with the most peculiar energy. It was very familiar. Almost like his own. That one guy is a blue eco user? "Wow this is a surprise." He thought to himself as he sped off to the direction of the user.

He was under fire but seemed to be defending himself well. But in that case Rawling will be his offense. He set his course towards a band of marauders driving towards Leo head on. Rawling hit the boost. A blaze fired off from the exhaust and Rawling was pinned to the seat by the G-forces. He let go as he approached the Marauders and was side by side with the band. A couple of their passengers pointed there guns and were about to shoot.

Rawling raised his arms and a sphere of pure blue eco shined brightly in his palm. Electricity shot out from the all three of the Maruader vehicles and they went to a cruising stop. Rawling had drained all of the electrical power of the car batteries. Rawling sped by Leo waving as he did so.

He made a hard right towards the battle field and saw that there was another person struggling. Five Marauders on him. Rawling picked up the, "Hey you! The guy getting tailed! I want you to look to your 3 o' clock. head in my direction and punch your boost! I want you to drive past me as fast as you can!"

She could feel his blue eco crackling all around, invading the very metal frame of the buggy. Somethinginside her sparked, a feeling akin to the feeling of blue eco. For a moment her brow furrowed before she realized what it was. Her fingers were sparking, trails of blue playing across them as they cluctched hte wheel.

" Precursors!" She shouted in surprise. The energy arced all over, gettting out of control. She didn't know how to handle blue eco. Red was hers, the eco of strength and warmth. An unafamiliar feeling of quickness and tang of electricity spread through her, and she paicked. With a speed greater than her normal speed, a speed she was unused to, Shinrah pulled out her gun to shoot the marauders. She reached for the familiar feeling of red eco, trying to meld it with the bullets to let it escpae Leo's field of blue eco. The last thing she needed was to not be able to shoot.

The bullet went flying, and she twisted back around, shooting to the side. The marauders where everywhere, and the crackling in her body was making her tense. She didn't know what to do. Suprise marred all her features as she looked at Leo.

" What the hell do I do with this!"

Ku quickly turned his head and saw the man's buggy.
He yelled into the radio,"I hope you know what your doing!" Ku quickly shifted gears and did a couple of doughnuts before stopping entirely. He heard the roar of the Marauder's engines behind him and just when they were about to crash into him, he pulled off quickly, reaching the highest speed on the buggy. The Marauder's were close behind Ku as he sped closer and closer to the man.
He thought,"Wait...wait...now!" Ku quickly pressed a button and activated the boost, flying over a dune and over the man's head. He quickly sped to a stop and stood up. The Marauder's were still making their way towards him and Ku began to worry.
He thought,"What could this guy be doing?!"

The Monk was almost to the top before he stopped and found the right digging spot. He placed the goggles on top of his eyes and started to chip into the rock. He wanted to do his searching before any one decided to come and try for them self. As he diged he couldn’t help but think of his friend, the leaper lizard. He hoped she mad it back in one piece.

His fingers then dug into the dirt and chunks of it fell below him. He didn’t bother looking to see if anyone was under him, mainly because they were all in the temple. All the while he kept thinking of the artifact he found, hoping and simply hoping it was something valuable, or useful.

The wind began to pick up, the sun slowly rising into the sky, the heat would soon be unbearable. Well only to those who did not stay in it for their entire life or simply decided to come in from the city. He would give it about five hours or so before he would pack up and leave, hopefully he would have many artifacts… if anything at least he still had his one.

Leo twitched with the gunfire, his concentration on the metal flying through the air. He felt a slight energy signal and heard Shinrah shout something. He turned his head, his concentration breaking and the bullets that were suspended falling like rain onto the buggy. There was a slight glow where she sat, her body slightly illuminated. He shook his head not really believing that he was seeing . " Uh blue eco is speed. . . concentrate and channel it to the engine. . . and please get to the pens." He said nicely, his voice crackling with a small tremor of fear. Being chased by marauders was way more fun when I could see them. He thought with a slight smirk, his attention going back to protecting the car.

The duo's buggy was close to entering the ruins that surrounded the leaper pens. The tight corners and crumbling buildings would make it difficult for both party's to navigate. " I hope this guy on the radio knows what he is doing." Leo thought out loud his eyes blankly staring forward as he manipulated the bullets paths away from the buggy.

Rawling booked it towards the pens at the maximum speed the buggy could go. The dust was flying high behind as he approahed the pens. Their we saw the two buggies. Maruaders following. "Just as I planned." Rawling said to himself.

He veered slightly to the right of the vehicles and raised his left hand. A bright blue shines from his palm as he past Ku and in an instant flash a huge bolt of electricity formed between Rawling palm and the first set of Maurauder vehicles. And again with the ones behind Leo.

In that split second Rawling zapped all of the power from the batteries of the Marauders' buggies. They all lost power and began slowed to a stop. "Haha! Hell yea! That's what I'm talking about!" Rawling said as he fist pumped just to find out that the zapping caused a horrible burn on his hand.

He put the brakes on just enough slow down a bit and carefully picked up the radio. "That was awesome guys! Woo!"

Shinrah closed her eyes for a fraction of a second allowing her to see the blue around her. It made her thoughts race and she didnj't like that. Things needed to be planned. Thats it She took a grip on the rampant energy and thrust it into the metal. The whole thing sparked as it raced towards the engine. Suddenly they lurched forward going faster than the dune buggy was ever meant to go.

The car was racing through the sand wildly kicking up a cloud behind them. It was only with a practiced hand Shinrah kept them from tipping over. She got them to the pens only a moment after the others, speeding along.
