Etrius looked out across the horizon from his roof. The sun was rising and the air was clear and fresh. The city of Haven was just starting to come back to life after a peaceful night. There had not been a metal head attack in months and the people had once more become relaxed. The KG marched on patrol as usual but with a little spring in their steps. People had thought that the last attack from the metalheads was there last and that they had won the war. How ignorant they were. But perhaps it was just hope springing up in the chaos. Etrius knew otherwise. He knew what they had seen during that last fight was but a small taste of what the metalheads could do. It wasn't over but when the the metalheads would strike again he didn't know. It could be today, tomorrow, or a month from now. Still a lone though slipped into Etrius's mind when he thought about that day. Will I be ready? Standing up Etrius walked back into his house, the thought lingering on his mind. Would he be ready for the next attack? Would he be prepared to kill Sicar when the time came? Was he strong enough? Walking into his bathroom Etrius turned on the faucet and washed his face. Grabbing a wash cloth he dried his face off. Putting the towel down he looked into the bathroom mirror. I need to get stronger, he thought. With that he walked into his room and began to put items into a bag. Finishing with this task he stepped over to his closet and eyed his old cloths. They were battered and dirty, strips of cloth hung off of them and in some spot, dry blood stained in large dark splotches. He had used those clothes in so many fights but now it was time to start anew. Pushing those clothes aside he began to pull out cloths. Putting them on he finished it by tying his sister's ribbon around his forehead, holding two other pieces of cloth on his head. Putting his swords on his belt we walked over to his mirror and looked at his new outfit. With a nod he picked up his bag slung it over his shoulder. With a quick stop at the kitchen to put food it the bag he looked around his house one last time. It would be a long time before he saw it again. Then with a quick tightening off his boots he walked onto his roof, and hopped off, slid down the fire escape and jumped down to the ground when he was low enough. Etrius stepped out onto the street from the alley way and began too walk through Haven towards the city wall. "And so it begins."

Letting out a tired sigh Kelinna looked around the streets of Haven, with the metal heads gone the city acted as if it was ghost town. No one was around and those that where out, was either KG on guard around the city or looters thinking they could get away with anything thanks to the attack.
Continuing her walk Kelinna wished she could have done more for the city, holding her hands in front of her she frowned as if they where the cause "I know this eco can be more useful than just healing if only I knew the correct way to tap into it." Letting her hands flop down to her side she hung her head in defeat, remembering the test she use to preform at the laboratory Kelinna could recall the scientist pushing her to the limits and even then it wasn't enough. With every test it was the same out come, she would pass out from fatigue and not be able to use her eco for sometime having to slowly recharge her battery per-say. Never once though did they give let her use a weapon when they had her test the defense of her eco, telling her that she was to be a mobile medic for the KG back then and that she did not need to have a weapon if she was killed oh well they would just use another.
Too caught up in her thoughts Kelinna did not notice the man coming out of the alley until it was to late. Falling down from the impact she looked up to see what she had bumped into, seeing the large sword at his hip she paled slightly hoping it wasn't some looter with a attitude to match his sword. "I'm very sorry sir I wasn't watching where I was going..." Standing up slowly Kelinna was still hoping that whom ever it was had a nice bone in their body.

Etrius stumbled sideways, surprised. At first a slight irritation came over him then he saw who it was. "Its alright, I stepped out onto the street without looking. Here let me help you," Etrius held his hand out to give Kelinna support, giving a friendly smile as he noticed the concern in her eyes. "You're the librarian if I'm not mistaken, I saved you once I think." A slight pain poked at Etrius ribs as he recalled being thrown into a wall by Sicar several months back. Another reason to get stronger he thought.

Racking her memory for seem like forever Kelinna finally remembered the man in front of her "oh...yes you did save me I remember now." Frowning slightly at the memory she wondered if she would be a burden to anyone who came around her, noticing the bag on his back she wondered if he was leaving the city because of the attack.

Eying her curiously, Etrius followed his gaze to his bag. He shifted the strap on his shoulder, "I'm heading out of town for a little while. Going to do some training out in the wastelands, just so I'll be ready for the next metalhead attack." Looking back at Kelinna he smiled, "I have enough provisions here to last me for a month or two. Plus there's plenty of game out there to hunt." At least he hoped there still was. No one knew a whole lot about the land beyond the walls anymore. Which was exactly why it would be good for his training. What was better than the unexpected to hone ones abilities. If it got too rough all he had to do was make his way back here, that is if he wasn't to banged up. It was dangerous but it had to be done, the only way to grow stronger quickly was to push oneself to the limit and hope for the best.

Looking at him with a blank expression for a moment Kelinna suddenly exploded, "your going to train in the Wastelands! You'll be killed out there, no one knows who or what exactly lives out there also how do you know there will be wild game and fresh water! Did you even think this all the way through?" Crossing her arms in front of her chest Kelinna stared at him like a mother would a child who's hand had been caught in the cookie jar. Blushing bright red after realizing what she had just done Kelinna quickly started to apologize to him. "I'm sorry its just that I've been feeling frustrated about somethings and it wasn't right of me to explode like that."

With a grin of amusement Etrius nodded, "I understand your concern. But think about it, if I'm unable to survive out there than what chance do I have at beating the metalheads in a fight. To be under that kind of pressure, to have the elements against you, its probably one of the best things to do to get stronger." Etrius's grin widened as he thought about the challenge ahead. He hadn't thought about water being a problem but to him it was just another challenge to overcome. "Besides I'll be somewhat safe. I have an old cottage up on a mountain side, about a two day hike from here. My father use to take me there when I was a boy. There was a fresh water stream near it too fish from as well....that is if its still there." Etrius shrugged as he thought about it. It had been a long time since he had been there, for all he knew it may be gone, destroyed by the elements. Then with a nod Etrius looked kindly at Kelinna, "Its alright sometimes things need to be let out. If you need to yell at something you can yell at me before I leave. I wont remember by the time I get back anyway." Etrius gave a small chuckle at the though, Ah memories are such a terrible thing to loose...perhaps I'm getting too old.

Thinking about what he said and what was going through her mind earlier Kelinna fidgeted where she stood. "I know this sounds strange and probably very confusing but can I come with you? I want to grow stronger too so that I'll be of use next time there is an attack." Looking up at Etruis her eyes glazed tears of frustration "I don't want to be a burden anymore..."

The question caught Etrius completely off guard. Looking at Kelinna with wonder, Etrius stood trying to decide on the best course of action. He could tell that she was determined but would she be of help or a burden. He didn't know her abilities nor did he know if he had enough food to last two people. Still the company would be welcomed and another capable person helping in the next metalhead attack would be an advantage. Still did the pros out weigh the cons. Would she be helpful or just a liability. Would she help in getting not only herself but him killed, or would she improve enough to not only save herself but perhaps even save him one day. Etruis continued to stare at her, unsure of what to do, "Well," he said with an unsure chuckle, "I'm unsure of what to say. It will be dangerous out there in the wasteland. You may have to make some sacrifices at times." Continuing to eye her he put his hand on his sword in a none threatening way but hopefully in a way that helped getting his meaning across. "What are you good at? What are your abilities? I need to know if you will be of help or just a liability."

Perched atop a tall tower overlooking Haven City, Karras gave a sigh. With the last defeat to the Metalheads they had all gone back to their nest to regroup and most likely prepare for another attack. Knowing from experiance that the Metalheads were never ones to give up so easily, Karras knew that if the Meatlheads were gone for so long that it would only mean something far worse is to come, the only questions were when and how. Looking down at his bandaged right hand, My arm has healed, but what about the next attack? If it's going to be worse then I must become stronger. Never will I loose to a Metalhead. He thinks as he tightens his hand into a fist, I must learn how to perform that eco attack without destroying my arm... And I think I know just how to test my power. The Wasteland Metalheads... They never go back to the nest, so I'm bound to find one or two out in the Wasteland. He thinks as he stands up, the high altitude winds wipping across the tower creating a powerful updraft. Jumping from the tower, using the updraft to keep his descent slow, Karras drops to the ground, a slight thud emitting as he drops to a knee to dissipate the energy from the impact, "With the Metalheads gone there's no reason for me to stick around the piece of junk called a city anyway, nothing worth my time here." He says to himself as he stands up and heads for the gates of the city.
