Training Days (The EPIC RP)

Staring at Etrius in awe Kelinna quickly snapped out of her stupor "Mr. Etrius that was so cool." Sitting across from him, Kelinna pulled out a medium sized blanket wrapping it around her upper body. "How much farther is the cabin Mr.Etrius?" Looking out at the darkened dessert she wondered what type of things they would run into when they continued their way to the cabin.

Touching the staff carefully Kelinna hoped that with the training she would be able to defend those around her and herself much better. Remembering what the old lady said about channeling her eco through the weapon Kelinna tried to think of various way that she might be able to do that.

Ripping off a piece of bread Etrius began too eat, eying the horizon as he did.
Swallowing, took a small sip of water too wash it down. "You know you have to call me mr." Taking another bite he chewed away, eating slowly.
Finishing the bread he brushed the crumbs from his gloves and shirt. Returning his canteen to his bag he pushed it behind him. Then leaning back he continued to watch the horizon. "If you have anything to eat I would eat it now. You'll need your strength for the final trek to the cabin." Then pulling his blanket over him Etrius closed his eyes.
"Just so you know we'll be getting up before sunrise. It will be cooler too travel in the early morning. That and if we do we can reach the cabin before dark." Rolling over he put his head down on his bag. "And hope we don't run into any raiders tomorrow either."

Nodding her head Kelinna took out a small bag of dehydrated fruits and nuts. Taking a handful out she placed the food back into her bag, eating it slightly fast Kelinna looked slightly startled at the mention of raiders. Finishing off the fruit she took a sip of water from one of bottles she had brought, reaching up she removed the golden bangle holding her hair. Scratching at her scalp Kelinna ran her fingers threw the green locks for a few minutes to get the sand out. Yawning softly she laid down making sure to keep her staff close to her saying a quick goodnight Etrius, Kelinna closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep.

The cold night winds whip around the sand outside the small cave that contained Karras as the nocturnal animals scurried around the dunes doing all that they can to survive. The minuets and hours fly by as Karras sleeps, the sand below him soft and warm from the day's heat, helping to break the cold night time air.

As dawn nears Karras stretches his arms and legs with a bit of a yawn as he wakes. Crawling out of the cave he fixes his equipment into their appropriate places and begins his walk through the dessert for the oasis once again. The clear starry sky shining brightly without the city lights overcasting the heavens.

Turning over in her sleep Kelinna could have sworn she hear something outside the tent, shrugging it off as just noises of the dessert she tired to go back to sleep. Screaming out in pain as someone pulled her out of then tent by her hair Kelinna panicked clawing at whatever it was that had her, "well well lookie what we have er boys a pretty lil'prize." Disgusted by the man's appearance she fell to the dessert's ground as he released her, wincing in pain from the now present headache Kelinna quickly stood up slightly dizzy.

"Please just leave us alone, we have nothing to offer you." The leader laughing loudly walked up to Kelinna "well ya' see lil'pretty thats where your 'rong." Stroking her check roughly Kelinna glared at the man only thinking of one thing to do she tighten her fist and aimed a punch at the man's face.

Etrius's eyes snapped open, as small sounds made there way to him. He wasn't sure what it was, probably just animal. The desert came alive with them at night. Something still didn't seem just right. It was a lot of noise and a lot of huffing and puffing, but it wasn't spread out around them. No it seemed to be centered near by.
Opening his eyes slowly, Etrius began to look around the encampment. The light from the stars and moon gave the desert a pale and eerie feel. As he peered out into the endless sand a sudden grunt came from near by, followed by a pained scream.
With a quick jerk, Etrius turned in time to see Kelinna's feet moving past the rock that there tent had been set up against. Quickly rolling out of his covers he drew both this swords, just in time to see Kelinna lay her fist into the marauder's jaw.
The man's face barely moved, his thick jaw absorbing most of the blow. The man felt his jaw with a grin, eyeing Kelinna with a sick look. "Why my little witch, your goin' to pay for tha' one," he said as he reached out to grab her.
Suddenly the man stopped in mid grab, a startled gurgle leaving his lips. Looking to his left he found Etrius, one of his sword sticking up between the man's ribs.
Drawing the blade out Etrius let the man's body fall limp to the ground. Bringing both blades up he lowered himself into a fighting stance, in front of Kelinna.
With out taking his eyes off of the other ten marauder that surrounded them, all eyeing there falling comrade, Etrius spoke, "Kelinna run, as fast as you can. RUN!!"
With that Etrius charged forward, right at the marauder. Hopefully this action would be enough to let at least the girl escape.

Shaking her fist in pain Kelinna stared wide-eyed at the brute, closing her eyes after hearing the man's words she braced herself ready to summon a small shield of eco to deflect the attack. Opening her eyes slowly she saw Etrius's back facing her his swords dripping with the man's blood, fighting back a scream at the sight of the now dead leader, hearing his words she knew she could not leave him here by himself. Rushing back to the tent Kelinna grabbed the staff holding on to it tightly as she tried to back to Etrius's side.

Heading back to Etrius she was grabbed by another man screaming frustration Kelinna brought her leg in front of her and reared it back with all her forced, effectively hitting the man in between his legs. Making a strange sound the man collapsed to the ground cursing her in a weak and high pitched voice, standing directly next to Etrius she summoned a shield around them. "We can either run or try to fight...After all I did come her for training." Brushing a stand of hair out of her face Kelinna saw the group of men circling the shield tying to make out any weak points.

"So we gots a eco user eh? Well ain't that somthing special right boys!" One man yelled out to the others causing the group to laugh, frowning at their laughter Kelinna made sure to keep her focus on the shield wincing slightly as one of the marauders started to beat forcefully at the green wall. "Come on out we only want to play" tightening her grip on her staff Kelinna wondered just how they where going to make it out this.

Hearing a faint, distant scream break the still silence of the early morning Karras stops and turns towards the direction of the sound. Seeing a bright green glow reflecting off of a distant dune he stands there pondering about what to do, It seems that the marauders are busy the morning. I could go and see what's happening, after all the marauders would make for a good warm-up for today's hike.He thinks as he directs his attention to the eastern stars, Then again, sunrise will be here in about half an hour. I don't want to expend any unnecessary energy out here, especially so close to sunrise and the heat of the day. With that thought Karras turns back to his path and continues his walk to the oasis, If they can't take on a few marauders then they shouldn't have been stupid enough to have come out here first place.

Looking through the green shield that surrounded them Etrius couldn't help relax and laugh. "You know that you staying really puts a hamper on my plans."
With a grin Etrius lowers his swords, looking out at the marouders, "I had planned to get out of Dodge as soon as you were over the hill."
With a sigh Etrius turned and looked back at Kelinna, "Lesson one, choose your fights wisely, don't be afraid to run....plus you're not really ready to fight these guys."
Looking around he saw that there was still a way out. Only two guys had managed to flank them while the other eight were in front moving out around them. One guy who was behind them beat on the shield laughing at them to come out.
With a grin Etrius lifted his blades back to the ready, "Kelinna, how much control do you have over this shield?"

Blushing in embarrassment Kelinna quickly snapped at the one that was knocking on her shield, only causing him and several others to laugh at her.
Growing frustrated at the group of men as they made several cat-calls at her Kelinna slammed her staff down hard in frustration on the ground causing a wave of green eco to ripple through the area, the shield growing larger out of no were threw some of the men back.
Landing on the sand they quickly stood up cursing at the eco, blinking in surprise at the staff she looked over at Etrius "I have perfect control over my shields? Why do you ask?" Scratching the back of her head confused, Kelinna eyes widden in surprise wondering if Etrius was really thinking the same thing she was.
