Well... I've seen the movie twice now. Once with friends on its release day and last night with my parents, first time standard version and second time 3D version.
After seeing the movie twice I still can't see anything that says "racist" and I have no idea why anyone would call it that. There's nothing racist about the move. Sure a couple of characters are racist, but that's life, that just builds more into the story and the characters making the characters more believable and the movie better. Quite frankly I'm sick of people screaming "racist" at every little thing. If idiots like this would just get their heads out of their *** and stop complaining, the problems with racism would actually go down since in today's America the vast majority of the racists are the ones who keep complaining about it, no one else cares, people are people.
Ok, sorry for the rant, I had to get the off my chest. Now back to the movie...
I thought that the movie was great. Grant it, I did find the overtly massive amounts of "new-age tree-hugging" rather disturbing, but it was still a good movie. The action was good, the graphics were absolutely stunning, and music was awesome, and the story was good. Really one of the only faults with the movie was that it dragged on for a little over two and a half hours.
I'd also like to say that the standard 2D version is better then the 3D. Any time the camera would move rapidly or an object on screen would move very rapidly (majority of the movie) the 3D version became rather blurry and hard to watch. This is a normal problem with 3D and one of the reasons that I rarely watch anything in 3D. If you can't choose which one to watch, my personal recommendation is the 2D version.
