I think this movie is either going to be REALLY good or REALLY bad..no inbetween...Im planning on going to see it...tho Sigourney Weaver is in it.......so the whole time im going to think "ALIENS!"

Yeah, I agree, the story really sucks. Not having seen it yet, I can't really comment, however, I do know that there was NO WAY they could have not known about M. Night's upcoming Last Airbender movie, so for them to take the world 'Avatar' just to be petty seems a little cheap to me. Also, the movie has been so hyped up, I'm going to be super bummed if it turns out to be really lame. I'll most likely go to see it, simply because I love Sci-fi, but pretty much for not any other reason. I'm still angry that they took that 'Avatar' title. 0_o

I saw it and I lied....there was an in between. It was abit long, well...Ill put it this way.... I love long movies, but its one of those movies that could have been 1:30mins long....not 2 something. Abit slow at first, but it picks up middle-towards the end. Overall I enjoyed, its dropped the GD bomb a few times, which im not a fan of other than that.....the CGI was AMAZINGLY awesome. Some Cliche' parts but its worth the money.

Yeah, it was good. Its like a future "Dances with Wolves"....did anyone get that feeling? btw, i lol'd when I found out the race of people were called Na'Vi ....as you can see why.

I read an article earlier that said that the movie was racist, and that it had a clear environmental view. Wow. I understand that the director does have an environmental view (he said that in an interview) but, why is it not ok for the director to express his views subtly in him own movie? Just don't go see it if you don't agree. And as for it being racist, 'how?' is all I can say. The race that he created for this movie isn't even real... Oh, well. Still won't keep me from going to see it. As for movies though, I am SO excited for Sherlock Holmes to come out, I have been waiting very impatiently. I hope its good, though, because I would be super disappointed if its silly or boring. Seeing it tomorrow ^^

I lol'd on the Na'Vi thing too! Me and Erin both did.
And as for the racism. I don't see how. Yeah, sure the story was more connected to native americans and the Na'Vi looked like blue skinned black people. The race was original in its own way. That respectable.

I personally adored this movie, it has it's clichés but I think it's justifiable because after all, didn't Cameron create some of those Sci-Fi clichés? Just look at Alien and Terminator. But in the end, it was dragged on for a bit too long, the 3-D was great and of course, tiring for the eyes after a while but what I loved about it wasn't just for things popping out, but to increase the quality as well. I, by the way, don't see what's so racist about the movie. Can't people just enjoy it and disregard whichever point of view the director has and look at the pretty Na'Vi running around (I kept hoping for them to shout "Hey! Hey, listen!")? It's not as if he's shoving his ideals and opinion down our throats. Good movie, loved it, it stood up for it's hype. A+ (I'm going to squeal with fangirl's delight, Imelza. Robert Downey Jr. is the cutest actor I've ever seen hnnnnggh. With Jude Law. It has bromance. Ffffffffff. -chokes in delight- But wanna know something utterly pathetic and sad? The movie isn't out where I live until January 15th.  ) |

I lol'd on the Na'Vi thing too! Me and Erin both did. I know right! Yeah I dont see how it was "racist" seriously, i think the casting of an 'African' accent fit the Na'Vis. People WILL and AWAYS find ways to complain, you cant please everyone you know. |

Still haven't seen Avatar, and I'm most likely the only one who hasn't, sigh. Hopefully seeing it today, though!
Oh, geez hrefna, I hate to say it, but your life officially sucks now. Sherlock Holmes was friggin' fantasmic. And yes, both RDJ and Jude law are yummy, and were fantastic in this movie. You should fly to another country just to see it. It's that amazing. XD

I personaly loved the movie, IT WAS AWSOME XD. The story (in my opinion) was not slow at all, i loved the story line and all the lights and creatures, there were futuristic rhinos, panthers, hyenas and flying dinos that were so unique. Before i saw the movie i was thinking the story line sucked... but that untrue XP
