Oh for the love of crackers! Has anyone else seen this commercial for the movie "Avatar". I'm sorry. I thought "Avatar" dealt with the benders of the elements not blue fairies vs. giant mechs!
As for the real Avatar movie(which is coming soon). It's called "The Last Air Bender"....... Yeah.....Weak....

Just so you know, people have great expectations upon the Avatar movie, sure, it's easy to get it wrong and think it's The Last Airbender, but personally, I like the idea of blue fairies vs. giant mechs better than a poor cast of people pushing boulders around and creating fire via dancing. I'll just stick to the cartoon. But, again, it's just my personal opinion, so no offense.
(Also, Avatar looks great. I'm going to see it VIP with my friend.)

Its not that I'm saying its a bad idea, but it's not what you'd think when you see the title Avatar. The commercial through me the fuck off.
I can't critique the movie(yet) because I haven't seen it. But we'll see. We shall see...

Just so you know, the word "avatar" is a real word that has more then one meaning, and if you really look at the definitions "Avatar" the movie actually follows the definitions more closely then the animated "Avatar: The Last Air Bender" does.
I'm actually glad you posted, cause I've been meaning to take a look at the trailer. I found a full 1080p HD version of the trailer and wow this movie looks beautiful and the story sounded really good too.

Yeah it does look good but it through me off. When you think avatar you think of the nickelodeon show. But I just had to see what you fine folks think of it.
And this movie more closely defines the word avatar you say DVM? Well now, I just might need to check out the trailer.

If you have Quicktime on you're comp and it can handle HD quality vids then I recommend going here for the trailer. It will act like a download but it doesn't actually save anything to your comp. |

i hope that movie is good cause i read some where the spent like 10 years making the movie. I saw the theatrical poster at the theater and i looked up it's movie page. I could have sworn i read somewhere on there that the movie took several years and hundreds of thousands of dollars to make. Oh and apparently they came up with the movie idea before the cartoon Avatar was made, there was some big debate on whether they stole the idea or something. I only saw that in passing when looking for the movie review thing.

An "Avatar" is like a representation of yourself. Like an avatar from XBox or the Wii. The guy's Avatar in the movie was the body body. You will noticed that it looks just like him. Thus confirming this post.

I donno if im gonna watch the movie ,the story kinda sucks. Though it should have been obvious why it is called avatar i understand why you would be confused, the first thing i thought whene i saw that name really was the cartoon.
Do any of you recommend seeing the movie?
