The dark feeling started fading, and Ertimus started heading towards the edge of the city. He felt like testing the device, and the best place for that was outside the city. He figured the best palce to look would be the desert. As he neared the gate, he took the keys for his second zoomer. It was a heavy zoomer, meant for the outside terrain. As the first gate opened, he looked behind to make sure no one was following, and then walked in the chamber.

The second gate opened, releasing a blast of steam and allowing passage to the land beyond. Ertimus took the camouflage net off the zoomer and took off towards the desert. As he zipped between hills and trees, he caught sight of Metal Heads patrolling the land. He kept his staff ready when outside the walls for this reason. 'I wander if Genesis is related to these creatures here. The fact he can talk is strange, but even weirder is how he sides with people, or so it seems he sides with them. Why else would he protect the city from that aquatic creature?' He had a lot of questions about Metal Heads, but Genesis had given him even more to think about.

    Genesis quickly slipped into the library through one of the open glass panes on the dome located on the roof. He was careful not making any noises as he climbed down to one of the larger bookshelves and curled up for a nap. That foreign yet strangely familiar feel of Dark Eco. Yet using it took a lot out of him in terms of energy. If he remembered Metal Head anatomy right, the properties of the eco shouldn't deteriorate his body.


    Slowly he slipped into a deeper sleep. Mind easing more towards rest and less towards what worried him. Tonus probably wasn't going to be back for a while since he was out of the city on some family business. Guess it was alright for him since it was kind of getting close to the holidays.

Ertimus stopped the zoomer on top of his favorite hill. It was larger than the rest, and gave him a good view of all directions. He looked around at the growing plants around him. This area was one of the only ones where there were no machines and where you couldn't see any in the distance. He loved this hill for that reason.

He pulled out the device, the metal shining in the sun. He turned it on and looked at the screen. It appeared to be working. The scanner was picking up one object somewhere to the west. Ertimus got on his zoomer and headed for the blimp the device had picked up. If this worked, he might be able to find the missing piece to his staff. 'Please let this work'
