Ertimus stared, amazed, once again, at the control the metal head had over dark eco. Ertimus had control over it, sure, but his fear of being taken over by it kept him from using it too often. This creature obviously had no such problem.
As the metal head finished off his foe, Ertimus waited for it to emerge, thinking about how close he had come to revealing his secret. Yellow and red eco were the only two he ever showed anyone he could control. The blue he used when no one was around. Unless he found someone he knew without doubt would keep his secret, he would never let anyone know. He wasn't sure if a metal head could be trusted with anything, but being able to talk and be civilized is a start.
"One may wonder how a creature such as yourself can talk, but I wonder so much more. How can you control dark eco at such levels? Why do you care for the human population? What's with the precursor metal on your back? From what I see, you may be one of the world's greatest mysteries, apart from the precursors themselves." He smiled and held his staff down to the water to help the metal head out.

Genesis managed to land with by simply uncurling from his disk and vanishing again to reappear a few meters away from the strange human.
"You ask a lot of damn questions..." Genesis looked over at the human, "... but how about we just start with names. I'm Metal Genesis, or Genesis for short, the old-as-shit Metal Head."
The water was still stirring, the aquatic beast not yet dealt with, silently rose from the water. A glare more pointed at Genesis than anything. Then it descended back below to surface to wait for the opportunity to strike both foes at once, rather than deal with one before the other could come after it.

"My name is Ertimus Airilo, shop owner, racer, artifact hunter, and user of yellow and red eco. What's with this other metal head? He doesn't seem to want to die." He then smiled and looked at Genesis, "Shall we finish this and continue with the conversation afterwards? I wish to get to know you a little better, but we can't talk with this one still here."
Ertimus looked in the water and saw the shadowed outline of the other metal head, indicating it was deeper down. "He seems to be waiting or something. Perhaps for us to attack, to let our guard down, who knows? We may have to lure it out. Unfortunately, I have no experience with fighting in water, this would be my first time doing so. Any advice?"

The water-based Metal Head lashed out with its tail and smacked Genesis across his face. Genesis' head recoiled off to the side from the strike, but wasn't lifted off his claws. Genesis snarled and launched himself at the aquatic foe, landing in the water. Genesis pulled the beast from the water using his mouth before spitting the tail into his waiting claws.
Standing on his hind legs and heaving the slick Metal Head into the air and started to spin in circles. Each rotation getting faster and faster by the second. It took about fifteen minutes for Genesis and the monster to become one big blur. A blink of an eye and a few rotations would go by. Then a bursting glow of purple, flashing in its wake.

Ertimus stared at the spot where Genesis and the other beast were just at. The power he just witnessed left him speechless, and with eco, that was rare. He couldn't see where either of them went, only the bit of Dark Eco left behind. Whatever Genesis had just done had taken a long time, and during that time, Ertimus felt the power rising, beyond anything he had ever tried.
He looked around, but didn't see any trace of damage, or Genesis. That still made him uneasy a bit, with all the Dark Eco. Still, he could do nothing about it now. He could only hope to run into Genesis again at some other time. He walked back to his store to look at the damage.
Despite the front window being busted in, not to much damage was done. A few Precursor Artifacts lay on the ground, but those were from the window. The Precursor Metal plating on the floor was dented badly, but that was an easy fix. He got out his communicator and called up a window repair. He started cleaning up the broken glass on the floor. He then gathered up the Precursor Artifacts and set them on his counter, inspecting them for damage. Surprisingly, they were all in perfect condition. He smiled, "Looks like today MIGHT be getting better."

Outside Haven City Wall
Genesis smashed the water-based Metal Head right into the sand of the wastes. A giant bloom of dust right from the impact zone. Then an explosion of violet erupted within the sand bloom just seconds after contact with the ground was made. As the dust cleared away and settled, purple bolts of lightning were shooting off Genesis' body and to the ground as he stared at the now lifeless and charred shell of his enemy.
He turned around and frowned as he now found himself where he started some odd time ago: outside of Haven City.
"Great." Genesis growled as he reverted back to his normal state. "Now I gotta find my way back in and to the library before any KG goons decide to show up or spot me in the streets."
Slowly making his way back to the wall, which wasn't that much of a trouble considering he landed a few kilometers away. Genesis was focused on figuring out how he would be back in the library, several ideas came to mind, but the one he chose would result in him needing a bath. A long, persistent bath.

Ertimus was tweaking a new project he had been working on for a while. Hopefully, if it worked, the small device could detect not the regular Precursor metals found in the sands of the wastelands on a regular basis, but instead it would be able to find eco-charged Precursor Artifacts deeper down, giving Ertimus a better lead on when and where they would surface. If it worked, he could study the Artifacts and possibly find locations to major Precursor tools and, if he was lucky, cities.
He was placing one of the last pieces on when the window repair came in; "You call for a repair?" Ertimus walked over and shook the man's hand; "Thanks for coming. There was an accident with a loose crate and it busted my window." He knew better than to tell the truth. "Do what you can, I'll throw in a free Artifact and a discount with your pay. Nobody gets paid enough these days." He liked helping out civilians when he could. "Well that's mighty nice of you. I might have to take you up on that offer."
Ertimus sat back down and got back to work as the repairman got to work. He was able to get to the last piece of the device before the window was done. "It looks amazing! Thank you so much." Ertimus watched as the man picked an Artifact and left with many thanks. He then began putting everything back together. As he worked, he began to wonder what Had happened to Genesis.

Genesis had managed to sneak his way back into the city through the sewers. Much to his dismay, he now needed a bath and the library didn't have a big enough tub and only a hose for some odd reason. There wasn't even a place for a hose, so it struck the Metal Head as odd. Yet, it was the least of his worries since he needed to get himself clean.
He opted for the risky bath in the harbor rather than track the muck around Tonus' precious library and get a hearty helping of a rant. He just shrugged and hopped from roof to top in a rather erratic manner even though it followed a direction. With his last powerful leap from the edge of one such roof, Genesis launched himself out and in to the watery depths. He was lucky he knew how swim.
Genesis began to think to himself. Most of his past was foggy even to him. He knew his origins were within the Dark Eco that coursed through his veins, yet he felt that a large chunk was missing. He'd probably been spending more time among the two humans than his own kind. It was different to him, to have some real allies for once, friends really. It was foreign to the beast still, but left him with a strange warm feeling. Yet, one of his human friends was also the boy who somehow outwitted him in a fight. Just to protect his family.
Family. Another word Genesis and his kind were never known for. Sure, he did possess a probably long dead family, but they were distant and faceless, just like the Metal Heads of now. It may take Genesis an eternity just to understand the meaning of that word. Family. Friends. Allies. They seemed the same in concept, but are and will be different form the other..

"Finally! Three months and its finally done!" He just finished the device. Finished, it resembled an over-sized powercell with handles and a scanner. Hopefully, with this device, Ertimus would be able to find more important artifacts and discover more about the past of the precursors and maybe even himself. Unfortunately, he couldn't remember anything of his life before waking up in a capsule next to the ocean. His staff was the only thing on him that seemed actually important.
The only things he remembered were that he was somehow tied to the precursors, the name and abilities of his staff, and his powers over eco. Eco is the essence of life, and the fact that he could control them all made him even more curious. What was the precursors planning to do with him? What was his true purpose? He had searched for these answers since he came to the city. Hopefully, he would finally have them.
As he was thinking this, he felt the now-familiar presence of extreme darkness. Was the metal head back? He stood up and walked outside, looking around. Despite the feeling getting closer, he couldn't see anything that could house the dark eco in such quantities. 'Is Genesis hiding?' He looked out to the towers, not seeing anything. He didn't see anything in the waters either, even though it was easy to hide behind the pipes jutting out along the border. 'Well, if he wants to talk, I'm sure he will let me know.'

Genesis steadily climbed out from the harbor as water dripped from his body. He was less than happy that the object he was standing on gave out beneath and his armor pieces had drug him to the bottom. Just near drowning. Genesis then fell to his side, heaving for what precious air he could manage.
"Damn..." Genesis heaved one more, "...metal."
He could swim just fine despite being a land Metal Head, not that he could match any aquatic variants of the time. Genesis didn't want to move, but unless he wanted to get shot on sight, he might as well make it back to the library. So with that in mind, Genesis got to his feet and quickly scaled a building to the rooftops
He had a feeling this was gonna be a long day.
