ok, here an old story I wrote, like forever ago. Hope you all like it. If I can find any of my other shorts, I'll post them here, but quite a few are reallly, reallly wierd.
Storms
Adasali could feel the storm building. The electricity in the air made her ears ring in a terrible way. It would be a horrendous storm, but she couldn't stop it. No, I can, but I won't She thought. Last time the consequences had been terrible. She had almost died. Why did she have to live like this, live in fear of every rainstorm. She shook her head, a few tears falling from her dark blue eyes. it’s all his fault. She could remember the strange power he had. How he had wakened her own power. It made her so sad. She had been fine before he came along, yet for all that she still loved him. How could I be so stupid? She asked herself. Her power did not help anyone, it only hurt, and now she had to shy away from every drop of rain. It was a terrible burden, to never be able to dance in the rain.
She could feel the call of the electrical storm building. It frazzled her nerves, making her want to go out and put an end to it. She sat there, hands crushing the soft armrests of the chair she was sitting in. Why now, why not another time. It always happened when she was alone. She gripped the armrests harder.
No, don't She walked into her room, forcing herself to sit down in front of her mirror. She stared at herself for a few minutes, brushing her hair. She hoped the movements would calm her nerves, but it only succeeded in giving her more time to think. It was so terrible. She could feel every strike of lightning, every bit of power held. She picked up a bottle of perfume, called yellow roses. It was her favorite, given to her by her love, Damian. How can I love him when he did this? She asked herself. It made o sense, yet she loved him with all of her heart, and he loved her same.
She sprayed the perfume generously, trying to choke out all reasoning. It worked, but only for so long. As the storm grew it called to her, stronger and stronger. It grew in power, taunting her. She tried to resist, but none were there to distract her from the ever growing storm. She could not fight its power. She rose to her feet, walking through the hall. The pictures of her and Damian hung on the wall, smiling faces staring at her as she made her way to the front door. She knew that she may never see this house again if she walked out of the door, but she did it anyway. The door to the outside world, loomed in front of her. She walked to it and opened it.
She was assaulted by a gust of wind and rain. She could smell the electricity in the air. The storm was whirling around her. It called, still taunting, making fun of her unwillingness to come. She shook her head, trying to turn away, but to no avail. She stepped into it, feeling how strong it was. It seemed to be calling her name, asking her to play its dangerous game. She did only what she knew.
" I am here" she whispered. She reached her hand out as if to hold the storm. It quieted for a moment before seemingly rebelling with a clap of thunder. She rose with it, calling to it, quieting it. She couldn't stop. This was who she was, what she was. She couldn’t help it. Her whole life would be spent in fear if she could not control her power. A voice called out her name, but she could barely hear it. The storm was yelling louder, telling her to be gone.
" Adasali! Stop, you can't!" A figure was running through the storm. It was a man, calling her name. His tall figure seemed like nothing from where she was. She was so high in the air and she wanted to go home. But the storm had her and she could not leave. It had her and would not let go. She would belong to the storm. No, I must go home. She strained against it with all her will, but she could do nothing. She was dragged into the storm, deeper and deeper. Maybe she would never return home. She cried out, wondering if her love could hear her over the storms roar.
The hours went by the man searched, but he could not find her. She might be gone forever. The rain seemed to lessen at that point, brightening the mans spirits.
The storm abated and he finally found her. She was lying there on the ground. Her beautiful dress was torn to pieces. He had not gotten there in time. The sight broke his heart. Her nose was bleeding and her eyes were closed. Her skin was blotchy, just beginning to show bruises from being tossed around in the storm. Her breathing was irregular and shallow. She opened her eyes for a few moments and saw the man there. She smiled at him, and spoke.
" I'm sorry Damian, I love you" Her voice was soft, and sounded like wind chimes and water song in the summer. Her smile grew wider and her eyes closed and her breathing stopped. She was still forevermore. Damian stared at her for a moment, slowly comprehending what had happened. A howl tore from his mouth, a sound of loss and anguish. She was gone and he was alone. How could he have let this happen? The storm had taken his love, all because he thought he could help her control her power. He should have known better, but they had both agreed. Now she was gone and he would live forever in the pain of losing his love. The totl darkness of the night seemed to be trying to smother him.
" I love you Adasali." He said as her body disappeared, a wraith in the night. The wind took her away, forming a cloud that glittered like crystal. It swirled and formed what looked like Adasali.
“I love you” She whispered, the last words she would ever say.
Morning light broke over the horizon, seeming to shatter her. The pieces glittered as they fell over the ground. Damian just watched, wishing that he could die too, so easily. But he could not. He would never again be with his live. They were forever separated now.
“ I’m sorry” He said quietly.
