Rain pitter-pattered down the dingy window pane, slanted skylights that lent light to the dusty books and dustier shelves. It was dark, even though it was the middle of the day. A stormy, deep blue-green cloud front covered the sky as far as the eye could see. Threatening, but refreshing at the same time. The kind of day that made one want to curl up and take a nap in some cozy, plush armchair, wrapped up in a blanket with a cool drink near at hand.

And that's exactly was Genesis Killenger was doing. Her lips left the rim of a frosted glass, filled with cold, sweetened tea. A smile creased her whetted lips as she snuggled deeper into her dark, soft blanket. It was a slow day for the bookstore, and she was the only one on duty at the moment. She could afford to laze about.

That is, until the distant tinkling of the bell in the front room drew her from her napping. The door had opened, which meant customers. Usually. Genesis got up begrudgingly, a deep frown on her face as she meandered to the front room. "Welcome to Lit' Known Facts. May I help you?"

The rain was coming down harder and Kelinna had no umbrella, noticing an opened shop opened the store's door the sound of bells startling her. Stepping in to the building Kelinna saw that it was a bookstore of some sort, walking in further the door snapping shut behind her.

Studying the shelves lined with various books, she suprised when someone entered the room and spoke up. Standing straight up quickly Kelinna removed her hands from the shelf as if she was burned, turning around to face the person Kelinna kept her eyes on the floor. "Oh...Umm well I was just trying to escape the rain and I saw that your store was open." Switching her weight to one foot and the other Kelinna made a odd face as her shoes squished in the small puddle she made.

All he wanted to do is go for a walk! It was a fairly cloudy day but come on! It was raining unlike any he had seen. He caught some cover under a merchant's cart cover but was soon asked to leave because he was closing shop.

Where to go? The was a nice little place across the street. He ran across the drenching barrage of rain to the door of the store. When he entered it was a whole new atmoshere. Dry, warm, cozy. Nice little place.

He noticed a couple of young ladies already inside. He gave a little wave. "Hey there! Wonderful weather we're having huh?" He said with a smile and a small chuckle. With a small glance around the room he found that this was a little book store. He then proceed to look through the shelves but nothing seemed to catch his eye. "So whats good here?"

The rain fell heavily, wind blowing the rain forward into Evey's face. Lightning lit up the dark gray clouds that wiped around in the sky. Zoomers rushed by hastily their headlights casing shadows across the buildings on this sunless day.

"Jerks!" Evey yelled at the zoomers as they past through the sky as she angrily whipped her staff in vain at the rain pounding at her face. She slipped her goggles over her eyes and trudged on until she found the open sign on a bookstore door.

"Dry land!" She exclaimed pushing through the door ignoring the ringing that the bell made as she slammed past. She let out a sigh of relief, the smell of bookstore reaching her nostrils. She looked around the room and noticed the group of people standing in the room. "Oh snap, did I interrupt story time?" She said eying the people in the room and giving a nervous smile wile placing her goggles back on the top of her head.

Dale also came into the store all drenched, and cold. He was about to leave when he saw all the people, he got really nervous in crowded areas. But considering that it was still raining he had no choice but to stay. "Um...Hi." He quickly said to everyone and took a look at the books. He normally didn't have time to read, but he figured since he was here he might as well browse a little, who knows, maybe he would find something he liked.

"Akward..." Evey said running her hand through her drenched brown hair. She slowly walked to the book-shelfs eying the dusty books. ReadingEvey thought with a inward disgust. Why sit alone and read when you could be out making history and living life. She never understood why people could enjoy the stores of imaginary characters. "The ending of every book here the bad guy dies." She mumbled looking discontentedly at the rows of titles.

Scooting off to the side, Kelinna studied the titles before her. Recognizing many of the books from the library she touch one on the study of green eco pulling the book out slowly she then started to leaf through the pages taking mental notes on what the book mentioned. Smiling softly she carefully placed the book back in its proper place making it seem as if was never touched, "what a lovely collection here."

Hearing several more people come into the shop, Kelinna noticed a girl caring a staff and two males. Walking over to the fiction section she caught part of what the girl with the staff said, ignoring the person's words Kelinna let out a smile as she noticed several books not in the library. Grabbing the five books she could afford Kelinna struggled over to what she assumed the check out desk.

Evey let out a sigh. Why did it have to be a bookstore?She thought shaking her head. She noted the girl who had grabbed some of the books of the shelfs where she was standing. No one here seemed interested in conversation. Why couldn't the rain started when I was by a bar? She thought starring back at the books witch were apparently 'fiction'.

Happy with her book selection Kelinna was scared suddenly buy a loud crash of thunder, screaming in her surprise she accidentally dropped all her books in as well as have her eco flare up, a soft green glow surrounded her for a few moments. Not yet used to all the sounds in the city she bent down sheepishly to pick up the scattered books, "calm down Kelinna it's just rain... It can't hurt me" mumbling the words to herself she was sure that the people in the shop thought she was crazy for reacting like that.

Evey turned around suddenly to the ring of the bell on the door staring as yet another victim of the rainstorm walked into the bookstore. She sighed. There isn't going to be enough room in here if we keep at it. She thought with a small smile.

"Hello stranger!" She said to the man and then turned to the woman who dropped her books. "Jumpy eh?" She said as she bent down to help her with her books.
