First Mission
First Mission
Jak went through hell getting out of the palace. He jumped out the doors to the streets of Haven city, the hell city. When he was out he looked around, he started to walk to see what’s going on, also where he’s at. He came across an old man with two kids playing around. He decided to walk past him, that’s when the old man saw and walked after him, he started saying something Jak didn’t want to hear him. “Hello strangers, my name is Kore.” The man started to say, he stopped Jak from walking. “May I help you?” He said still in Jak’s way. “You look like a reasonable smart man.” Jak said with attitude, he grabbed the man’s beard. “I want answers.” He said with harshness. “Where the hell am I!” Jak yelled practically.
“Welcome to Haven Jak.” Tatsu’s voice rang trough the streets. Jak automatically looked in the direction. “That voice, I heard it before!” Jak wanted to find the person, he did. Tatsu was at the other end. He slowly walked to Jak. “Hello, my brother. Long time no see huh?” Tatsu said with happiness in his voice. Kore looked at them both. “You know Tatsu?” He said shocked, yet not. “Tatsu…it’s been a long time… you can talk! Where have you been, why didn’t you help me out!” Jak started to get enraged. “Calm Jak, I am not here to hurt you, nor to make amends. For I did help you, Everyday I did… it costed me a lot.” Tatsu held his right arm. The arms of his cloak were far past his arms, to show he had power mainly. The cloak hit the ground; the hood went past his eyes, only showing his chin and the metal band.
He had earrings, weird earrings on. They had the symbol of mar on them, the royal symbol. “Then where were you, I haven’t seen you in… who knows how long!” Jak yelled furious. “Two years to be exact.” Daxter said with unease. “I have… been working with the Baron; I tried to get you out everyday.” Tatsu looked down; his eyes were filling with horror. He remembered the day his arm was cut off, the day he almost took his own life. Groups of Red Guard’s were coming; they saw the old man and little boys.
Tatsu’s eyes looked at them. “Must go, help the old one, he knows something for you, don’t you Kore?” Tatsu said. With a second he was gone. “Where…How…what happened?” Jak said now losing his rage. “Ah yes, the power of light eco…such a fascinating thing.” Kore said. The KG started yelling. “Everyone in this section is under arrest due to underground plotting.” One said. “Please help us, this boy is important!” Kore said trying to walk away. He was about 20 feet away. “Let’s get this over with.” Jak said. “Get him boys!” The leader said. They started shooting and Jak dodged the first shots. He started to punch them; he knocked one out with a single hit. He kicked another knocking him to his ass. For no reason Jak’s rage go the better of him, he turned into a dark creature. He rapidly attacked the KG. He sliced one throat and then got ones leg.
All were slaughtered, Jak turned back. “Impressive young man.” Kore said walking back. “But you better leave now, or more KG will come.” He continued. “First Tatsu said you could help me.” Jak said looking at the man. “Ah yes, there is an underground group, the leader called Shadow can help you, he needs fighters like you. Go to the slums and ask for Torn, they should be at a dead end alley, and farewell friend.” Kore started to go. “Those kids, they look familiar, oh well lets go Jak.” Daxter said jumping on his shoulder.
They got to the slums; they found the entrance and two people standing by it. “Were looking for a guy named Torn.” Jak said to the woman. “Kore sent us…umm are you Torn?” Jak said to a man who was now in his face. He gave Jak a dirty look. Daxter poped up from behind to their eye level. “Maybe this guy is a mute, like you were.” He said looking at both of them. “New faces make me nervous. Word is you out o help the fight in the city. You know picking the wrong side could be unhealthy.” Torn was basically interrogating him. “We want to see the Shadow.” Jak said bravely. Torn chuckled. “Not likely. If you want to join something, why don’t you and your pet join the circus, unless you got the fur for a really tough task? Steal the Barons banner from the ruined tower and bring it back to me, then maybe we’ll talk.” Torn said playing with his knife. “Fine, we’ll be back.” Jak said walking away.
When he was far away a person in a cloak came out of the secret doors. The cloak was extremely too large for the person. The person then glided to Torn. “A bit harsh there, you do know we need recruits, especially him.” A sweet, loving woman voice said. Torn relaxed a bit to the sound. “Yeah, but they all have to go through tests, you did.” He reminded her. “Yes, now look where it got me.” She extended the arms of the cloak and put them on his shoulders. “I must go, you know the mission for him, if he succeeds in this one.” She said letting go and walking in front of him. “Yeah, I know.” Torn said turning. “Good, I will not be here anymore, in the world, but in the under, yes…much alive there.” She walked on by, fast and elegant.
Jak went through the security doors and into the ruins. He saw the tower. “We have to get that!” Daxter yelled. “Yeah, it’ll be easy.” Jak said starting to go. He jumped on a few platforms that were in the water. He got to land again, but only to see creatures. “What in the world are those?” Jak said looking at them weird. One saw him and started to run after him. It had sharp teeth. Jak punched it, killing it on the first hit. Five more started to run after him. “My god…they breed like hell!” Daxter yelled. Jak started attacking. He was done in ten minutes. “Like I said easy.” He smiled. He got to the tower, he started climing on none broken ledges, then some stairs. He got to the top and saw the banner. “Got it.” Jak said. The tower started to crumble and fall. Jak grabbed it and found a poll, he jumped to it twirling, he jumped and landed on the ground.
“That was lucky.” Dax said. A woman in a pure black cloak was standing in front of him. She held her hand out to help him up. Jak refused it and got up on his own. “They were right, you do have an attitude.” She said with a rough bitter voice. “Who are you?” Jak said with more attitude. “They call me Shadow, and now I am not the leader. I am however a professional killer and I will not hesitate to kill you if you work for the Baron.” She said with no emotion. “I’m not, I have something against him, and I want him dead.” Jak said mad. “We all do, he took something precious from me…one thing that can not come back.” She turned her head. “What?” Jak said now wondering. “Nothing, not now, I will tell you later, if I feel like it. Right now you should go bring that t Torn.” She said turning. A weird large weapon was on her back, it had a metal head face on it. “Yeah, okay, where will you be?’ He asked thinking she was not part of anything. “I will be there too, lets just say Tatsu sent me to help you, make sure you will be ok.” She said smiling. “I don’t need help.” Jak said now a little mad. “It may seem so, but I am under orders.” She said walking. “ugh” Jak was disgusted his brother would do that to him.
“Well come on little boy.” She said teasing him. “I’m not a boy, I’m a man.” He said keeping up with her pace. “Jeez a perfect match for you Jak.” Daxter said laughing. “Shut it ottsel or I’ll have your fur.” Shadow said with a strong threatening voice. Daxter went back to just talking random. The got through the security doors and into the streets. There was a two seat zoomer in front of them. A unique one, it was black with a cross eye and red tear drop. “This yours” Jak said looking at it, inspecting it. “Yeah, get in.” She said jumping in on the driver’s side. Jak jumped in and she started it. It runed smoothly, no noise or anything. She went fast, she dodged other zoomers. “Geese, trying to get us killed!” Jak yelled. “No, we are on a tight schedule, Don’t worry I am a professional zoomer racer.” She said smiling. “You’re a racer?” Jak said wondering now. “Yeah, I raced a few times, and then I was beaten by Errol… our ‘new’ champion.” She said in disgust.
They got to the underground building, well room. Shadow walked in and sat down on a chair. Jak handed Torn the banner. “There, we prove our selves?” Jak said wanting to get in. “Yeah, I guess you guys are in.” He said with amazement. “Whew, all this work gets you thirsty.” Daxter said. He walked to the water pump and started to pour. Mud just flung at his face. “That’s your next mission; the Baron closed the min water system to the slums side to get us out. I want you to go and fix the problem, get it back.” Torn said.
“Fine, the more we do the sooner we’ll see the ‘shadow’” Jak said starting to walk. Shadow got up and started to. “Shadow, Tatsu wants you to not use that weapon of yours, says you need to wait.” Torn said. Shadow looked at him. “I haven’t used this baby in two years, so what am I going to use it for now.” She said smiling. She went out the door.
