((Quinn and Josie are going to leave for the Wasteland and this will be the beginning of them passing over into the Fall of Haven era. This thread will be them saying goodbye to all their friends and creating more plots for the next era))
The apartment seemed empty. It wasn't full to begin with but now it was just bare. There were no pictures on the wall and all the furniture had been given away to people who could use it. Quinn doesn't know what will become of his apartment. He hoped a family deserving of it would buy it and have a happy life that he never had. A father who doesn't leave and a mother who loves you and doesn't drink her feelings. Maybe a little sister like Josie. It was a nice thought to leave the apartment with.
Quinn's belongings were already packed on the tanker in the Port. They're to board tonight. He had a few hours. He thought that would be enough time to break it to his friends and of course...Josie. The only things Quinn had of his were the clothes on his back and his com link. Quinn didn't really want to leave Haven but the job offer he got from the unknown source in the Wasteland was too good to pass up. Plus, with the rumors of the attack of Metalheads (even though it probably wouldn't happen), Quinn felt it wasn't safe for him and his cousin.
Quinn said goodbye to his apartment and walked through the city to Josie's apartment. Quinn felt bad hiding this from Josie and not telling her where they were going but Quinn thought it would be better this way. It just had to be. Tap, tap, tap. Quinn almost silently hit her door. The door opened to reveal her sad face. "You ready?" he asked.
Josie was a wreck. Quinn wouldn't tell her where they were going and some Port worker just came and said he was taking her belongings to a tanker in the Port. Where the hell were they going? It was starting to piss her off. "Why did some Port hand come and take my stuff, Phoenix?" she asked, almost in tears. "Where are we going? Kras City?"
"No....not exactly." Quinn looked down at the ground.
"Then where?" Josie asked, in anger as a tear streamed down her right cheek.
Quinn gulped. Josie would be furious with him when he gave her the answer. "The Wasteland."
"Quinn! What is wrong with you?" Josie screamed. "We're gonna be killed!"
"Josie, keep your voice down!" Quinn hissed. He grabbed her by the shoulder to comfort her. "I've just been hearing some...rumors. Rumors about what is going to happen to this city. I don't feel it's safe here anymore. And that job offer I got...it was from the Wasteland. He promised a better life for me there. I'm not about to go have a better life and leave you here to possibly die." Quinn explained. "Please don't stay. Please some with me."
"What about everyone though, Quinn?" Josie asked. "What about my career? What about Audra and Mykah? Ku and Rawling? Everything we worked hard for."
"I'm sure everyone will be fine and you'll be just as successful in the Wasteland as you were here."
Tears just started to pour down her face. She had been up all night thinking they were just moving to another part of the city and now they were moving to the Wasteland. Away from everyone she loved and to probably be eaten by Metalheads. What was her cousin thinking? She didn't want to leave Quinn but she didn't want to leave her life here. She was so confused, angry and sad she couldn't even think straight. Josie fell into Quinn arms and began to cry on his chest. Josie realized very quickly she had no choice. She would have to go to the Wasteland.
"Fine," Josie hissed.
Quinn stroked his cousin's hair and back. He figured she would react like this, but everything would be better in time. "I know this is hard on you, Josie. And I'm so sorry I told you now but...I thought this would be easier for you." Quinn sighed. "Come on, we'll have to say goodbye to everyone. Parting is such sweet sorrow." he said, trying to make Josie laugh but it didn't work.
A few minutes later, Quinn and Josie were walking toward Mykah and Audra's garage. Josie was hoping they were there. Josie couldn't live with herself if she didn't say goodbye to them. She also wanted to saw goodbye to Ku and Rawling of course. She just didn't know where to find them. Josie walked to the door and knocked on it five times.
