This game is simple. We each make text messages that our character either received or sent last night, and feel free to make them as funny, absurd, or dramatic as you want. They can also make reference to events from years ago if you like, at which point, give date context.
There are a few different formats for this, which can include "to" and "from" with names, descriptions of people (e.g. friend from back home) or with phone numbers, or just writing the text out without context. Anything goes.
