MK1 Research facility, Haven city, 0600 hours. The large black bunker stood tall over the hovels surrounding it. It was obviously one of the Barons facilities. It was either too unimportant or dangerous for the baron to have it out in the slums. KG troops patrolled the ground tired in the early hours of the morning. Suddenly a siren screamed from within the facility waking the guards to full readiness. That siren meant only one thing. The test subjects had escaped. A voice cackled over a radio and that radio belonged to Cardian and thus his entire Spec-ops squad and his son who was visiting him during the late shift heard the message. ''Subject's escaping station MK1,Genetically enhanced, Carrying modified virus, kills fast, don't let them bite''. The voice panted for a few seconds then continued. ''Vaccine is at the palace''. A screech of tearing metal blasted from the speaker, loud inhuman screams followed with an undertone of prayer from the guy on the other side of the line. ''Move out!'' Cardian yelled. ''Corporal Johansen move down to the nearest KG out post, take part in the Evacuation of the slums'' the Corporal ran off almost shouting into his radio. ''The rest of you with me''. Cardian jogged off drawing his weapon. they where in for an interesting night, he just hoped that they would get some help.

Drafty and still. That was all Mair could make of the early morning hours. The streetlight fell heavily unto the tatters and trash that littered Mair's small 'home'. The smell of dust upon the metal and soldering equipment became the normal scent that Mair awoke to, too normal for her comfort, but she had been too busy to lift a single duster or throw out any bag of trash. She had been getting home in the late hours of the night, too exhausted to do anything else but fall flat on the bed. It was normal for her to only get a few hours of sleep, before she got up in the morning, and ventured out to find, steal, bargain, trade, and do whatever she had to get precursor artifacts.
Her little room was two stories above the slum streets below, a singular window overlooking the single market within the slums. The fireplace and chimney were still smoldering, as Mair looked into the embers blankly. Her hair was pulled back, and her tattoo, along with a few scars, could be clearly seen. She sifted through her red hair, and rolled over to look at the metal roof. It didn't take her long to feel the sting of the morning cold, and by ten minutes she was already in full civilian clothes, picking up her shoes and messenger bag from her front door. She left the complex silently and quickly, hugging the side of the dark walls to keep her from falling into the darkness. She let her hair fall into her face as she adjusted it one last time, closing the complex door with her foot, hair band in place.
Before she could take a couple steps away from the complex, she heard the distant singing of a siren, and general pandemonium. Mair sighed, but curiosity got the better of her, as she made her way to the Research Facility that she had heard about through the general underground. She scaled the side of a building with ease, hugging the pipes and swinging from ledge to ledge. Walking along the roof-tops she saw the evacuation teams moving quickly from complex to complex. She raised her eyebrow, and continued to head towards the Research Facility. At least this would be something she could report back to Damas about, if she decided to hang out long enough.

.Cardian Sprinted along the road to the facility his team around him, Evac teams swarmed the area turfing people out of their homes for their own good. He reached the facility's perimeter fence. He ordered his team to go help with the Evac. He himself jogged over to a Triage tent. The director of the lab was inside, laying on a field cot. "doctor Himmelsburg, What the hell happened, how many of these things are there and whats your estimate on the death toll". The doc propped himself up. " There are hundreds of them Cardian, The Baron went mad with his super soldier schemes!" The mans eyes where wide " The death toll will be massive Cardian, the vaccine only stops the virus not their augments or killer instincts" He gasped and slowly closed his eyes. Cardian whispered a prayer for the man then went back out into the chaos.

Mair solemnly looked over the unfolding events as she made her way to the Research Facility. There were dozens of Krimzon Guards lying dead or dying along the inner rim of the Facilities fences. Mair began to feel shivers up her spine, and knots twisting in her stomach, as she made her decent into one of the perimeter outposts. She landed quietly, and wasted no time taking cover and assessing her surroundings. The fence near the outpost had a small hole that Mair quickly took advantage of, pulling herself through without breaking a sweat.
"Hellooo?"
Mair squinted to see in the dark, and seemingly abandoned outpost. No movement- Nothing. She began to feel nervous and quickly stroke a match to see in the dark. While dead people do not phase Mair as much as it should, the corpses of the Krimson Guards were truly a horrific sight. Mair quickly left the outpost, and proceeded deeper into the facility. Not caring too much about whatever could happen to her- if she could get her hands on whatever is in the facility, Damas would never bother here again.

Cardian walked over to the fence. He tuned his eye to detect heat signatures, he spotted a small form moving towards the main bunker, but he also saw at least four other longer limbed things. "Hey you, get out of there!" he shouted. He grabbed a rifle from a patrolling KG. He raised the gun and started firing, taking one of the things out. He heard a click and dropped the weapon. He sprinted at the gate and using his white eco he blasted through. He drew his carbine and started firing hitting another two, They screamed horribly as their lifeblood left them. The last one was almost upon the diminutive trespasser. He Fired again but missed. " RUN!" he yelled desperately hoping his call would be heeded.

Mair spun around quickly, in time to see the deranged figure get picked off by a Krimzon Guard. Without any hesitation, Mair was already running in the other direction from the mutants, and didn't think twice when a man behind her shouted to 'Run'. She could hear the mutant snarl and yelp behind her, and looked back on the deranged figure that was right on her heels. Mair began to panic, and dove for a piece of metal pipe, that she would of tripped over had she not noticed. She began to turn mid-way in her slide, pulling up the pipe, and looking into the face of a deranged monster who, at this point, was three times taller than she was. However, it crouched down as it began to dive for Mair, who had the pipe nice and ready for the mutant's face. Sure enough, while it lunged at her she swung the pipe with all her might, definitely dazing the monster, if only for a short while.
Mair smiled and began to make a get-away dash, but stopped midway as she noted Krimzon Guards turning a corner and running towards her at full speed. If she ever got out of this alive, she would never, ever, report any military information back to Damas. Ever.

Cardian watched horrified as the test subject leapt towards the person, no, girl he realized studying her in her last moments. Failed again, why did he always end up failing or killing someone while trying to ave another.
He was surprised when she whacked the thing but not surprised enough not to raise his carbine and blow the things brains out, he sprinted the last few feet to the girl and knelt down beside her, hoping, praying she was ok. "are you alright, Did bite you!" he almost shouted into her face.

Mair looked up at him blankly. How awkward. She didn't say anything at first, hinting maybe that it did bite her, however after a uncomfortable and long moment, Mair shook her head slightly. Hoping to deflate the tension and series of events that had suddenly built up to her staring face-to-face with a Krimzon Guard. She had seen friends die at the hands of these guys, and to suddenly encounter one that actually cared about the well-being of others, it completely shattered half of the disdainful comments that she would spew to this guy after he blew the brains out of the mutant. However, Mair being Mair, furrowed her brow and jumped up to wipe the dirt off her clothes. She was pissed, and angry, being a Wastelander doesn't go over well with the Baron, and she thought for sure this could be the end of the line for her. Mair held her hand over her right eye, concealing the Monk tattoo as she faced the man.
"You're not apart of the Krimzon Guard, are you?"
Mair already knew the answer to the question, but if the guy had enough compassion to not arrest her on the spot for this, maybe he was worth talking to.

"No time for that now, we gotta go,'' cardian blasted a slavering mutant that was sneaking upon them, ''gotta get you outta here talk later''. Cardian saw a bunch of KG on their way to his position, he started shouting some stuff about seeing a bunch of mutants heading back to the compound then he turned and offered Mair his hand.

Mair frowned "That doesn't reassure me, sir,"
Mair bit her lip, and hesitantly took his hand. She saw the other Krimzon Guards bolt away as the man started barking orders, and saying stuff about mutants. Maybe he was trustworthy, but Mair wouldn't let that feeling ever show, or even think about it. She still held her hand over her eye, hoping he or anyone else wouldn't notice.
