She sat there, the rain pouring down around her; soaking the white silk and tulle made special for the occasion. Yet there would be no celebration; no exchanging of sweet words and sly caresses, all there would be is emptiness and despair. Leaning up Mora stared at the distance with a lost gaze, tears and rain mixing together under the lace veil draped carefully over her hair. Nothing mattered anymore to her, not the cold chill from the endless rain, or the fact that the dress she wore was slowly becoming stained with mud; and grass the only thing that did was she was alone.
No one would stand beside her, no one would hold her in their arms and tell her all would be okay; she had to face every day on her own with no compassion directed towards her. Everyone one whispered cruelly behind her back, none feeling remorse or cared enough to say “I’m sorry” just only resentment and anger. Falling to the soggy ground Mora cried into the bouquet of wilted flowers, some of the petals starting to mold and fall from the steams with each movements of her shaky hands “why! Why did you leave me like this? I have no one now… No one!”
Tossing the decrepitude flowers to the side, she started clawing at the ground beneath her; lost to her derangement Mora threw clumps of dirt while giving into her lunatic frenzy. Screaming out for help as she tried to dig into the earth with only her gloved hands, underneath the white silk her nails began to crack and chip from the abuse. Soon the sounds of sirens could be heard, all that ignored by the woman, only focusing on the matter of digging up what she needed; “I need…I need him here! Don’t you hear me, I need him here!”
Her words feel on deaf ears as the police finally pulled up to the cemetery; the rain clouding their vision as they made their way towards the dirt stained bribe. “Miss…Miss we have been asked to escort you back to your home. They are looking everywhere for you” Mora ignored them, throwing large clumps of dirt at them as she mumbled incoherently “gotta get to him, gotta get to him…” Was all she said, over and over again only pausing when the men started to pull her away from the grave; “no! No I have to tell him! I have to tell him I’m sorry! I do want to marry him, I do! I DO!” Frantically she tried to pull away from the officers; desperately wanting to return to her dead fiancé’s tomb stone “please! I have to tell him!” Her words soon became muffled as they placed her in the back of the squad car, choosing to tune out the screams she produced.
“Gees… What happened here?” The elder officer turned to the rookie and shook his head sadly “that there is Mora Delgado and a few years ago she was supposed to be getting married; but the day of the wedding she caught her fiancé and his friend together. Well Mora didn’t like what she saw so she killed them both, butchered them up really bad … They were really a nice couple, but now…” Simply just shaking his head again, the elder cop started the car up and headed toward the mental hospital, Mora’s screams signaling their approach as they drove closer.
