Things have have been busy lately. Lots of new members, new Role-playing, new features, and even a new staff member.
I'd like to start by saying that I am happy to announce that kelinna has joined the Dystopiatic Eco staff as our newest Moderator. The staff has been on the look out for potential staff members for some time now, and with her contributions to Dystopiatic Eco and well written posts she has been a prime candidate for the promotion. So once again, congratulations kelinna.
There has also been a major change to everyone's profiles. Everyone now has the ability to set a personal default font style in their profile. With this you will be able to preset the font face, size, color, bold, italic, and underline all from you profile. Then when you go to reply to a post your font setting will automatically be coded into you post. Keep in mind that if you use multiple fonts for different characters that you'll have to manually set your other fonts as this will only work for once.
Other big news pertains to Role-play Stories and Fan-fiction. All stories and J&D Fan-fiction has now been added to the main site. Changes are not yet done as the next project is to update all the art galleries for the new pieces of art work that have been made in the last couple of months, and only about half of the pages have an update menu.
Also for the stories I have a request. For everyone that uses Microsoft Word to write our stories before posting them on Dystopiatic Eco I'll have to request that you use a different program. I had to completely rewrite all of the punctuation in two Fan-fictions last night because Microsoft Word set the punctuation characters incorrectly which caused all of the punctuation to display incorrectly when posted onto the main site. In order to save me hours of work and a potential mistake on your writing I ask that you use a different program to pre-write your stories. Thank you.
Finally, I must say that I'm just a little disappointed. I believed that if Dystopiatic Eco had a minimum character setting of 120 characters on Role-play posts that everyone would put some thought into their posts. However it has become quite clear that some do not share a desire to have well written posts, filled with detail that makes the reader's imagination paint vivid pictures of the events written before them. So, the character minimum has been raised to 180 character. Now I feel that this is being quite kind given some of the resent posts made in the Role-plays since it's only an increase of 60 characters. If you're stressed about not being able to write enough then stop and think about your past posts. Think about what kind of details were missing from them. Based off of what I've read in some of the Role-plays here it should be very easy for everyone to write enough detail to meet this new standard in the Role-play. Also so you can see exactly what it takes to reach the minimum I've taken a screen shot of a 180 character post.
Thank you, and be on the look out for more updates.
