Behind These Metal Walls

The sky above Precursor Basin was shadowed in the darkness of the light, yet bathed in the glowing moon. The metal shimmered in the light, and the only noise through the entire area was the fireflies buzzing about. A tall and slender, yet curvy, women with dark red hair stood in front of a large formation of rocks, "The shape of this rock formation is amazing! What do you think happened to it, Terris?" she looked over her shoulder toward a lanky, blue skinned, white haired, old man.
He turned, tapping his long staff into the ground, "Possibly highly concentrated blue eco. Yep." He popped out his chin with a smirk, "This is definitely a good area for eco. Just look at this formation over here." He turned back, pointing his staff in the direction.
She walked to his side, her hips swaying gently. He looked in awe at the large hole through the entire cliff, "By the eyes of the Precursors..." she said quietly.
It seemed as if dust began to pull together in the wind, spiraling and slowly forming a clothed body. First came the boots, then the pants tucked in them, then a shirt with a metal shoulder plate and long sleeves, then fingerless work gloves with bandages wrapped around the wrist. All of these were on the body of a young man with long blue dreadlocks and purple eyes. He fell quickly through the cold night's air, slamming against the edge of a cliff with a loud thud. he bounced down the several short platforms of rocks, grunting and shouting with every crash, finally reaching the bottom of the basin. Before he hit the ground, his head slammed roughly against the end of a precursor metal tube, causing a thunderous gong to break the natural silence and chirping of the crickets. He landed limply on the ground, a pair of goggles dropping down beside him
The sage turned, his eyes wide open in surprise.
"What was that?" the woman asked quickly. "Lurkers?"
"No, no. It's something else. Let's go find out." He headed for the area cautiously, his staff at the ready. He turned around the corner, noticing the young man laying on the ground, "My, my..." he said quietly before the woman followed him around the corner. The sage crouched next to the unconscious man and rolled him over, his eyes widening at the bruises on his face and the large, pipe shaped gash on his hair line.
Unnoticed by either Terris or the woman, the man cracked his eyes open slightly, seeing the foggy and cloudy images of their faces looking at him.
"Who is he? I've never seen him around here before..." The woman crouched next to Terris, "Have you?" The man closed his eyes again, falling unconscious.
"No, Lara. I'm afraid I don't think he's from anywhere near here." he pulled a pair of dreadlocks out of the man's face.
(Two Days Later)
Terris shook his head, closing the door to the young man's room behind him, "He hasn't woken for two days, now... Anyway, the reason I called you three here was to find out if this had happened anywhere else."
Keira jutted her hip out, "No. I have no idea." she gave a girlish shrug, jutting her hip out, "You said he just fell out of the sky?"
"Yes. As amazing as it it, it's true.", Terris nodded and turned, "I feel something about this one... A connection of some kind."
Keira nodded, "Well, whatever it is, I hope you find out soon. I have to go, Jak's looking for me. Romantic dates can be so tricky." she smiled cutely, mounting a purple zoomer, waving goodbye, and flying away.
Lara stood up straight from leaning against the wall, "I have to go. I'm going to see if there's anything that could've caused this. We might be able to find out about our ancestors." she explained before walking out the door.
The man slowly opened his eyes, seeing the strange room around him. He sat up quickly, the blanket waving with the gust wind pushed under it. He looked around again, trying to figure out what was going on, "... Hello?" he said softly, straining into a whisper at the end of the word, "Is anyone there?"
The door creaked open, revealing Terris' face, "Why hello there, I see you're awake. How do you feel?"
He looked at Terris and tilted his head, "Am I seeing things, or are you blue?"
"My skin is blue, truth be told. It's what happens in my line of work. What's your name?" Terris took a seat on one of the stools in the room.
The man took a long pause to think, pursing his lips and squinting his eyes closed in frustration, "I... can't... wait... uh..." he winced, then opened his eyes with the sudden look of discovery, "My name is Jaf. Who are you? And... What is your line of work?"
"My name is Terris, and I am the blue sage." Terris smiled and tilted his head.
Jaf stared blankly, "Blue... sage?"
Terris looked at him just as blankly, "Yes... The sage of blue eco? The eco of electricity and energy?"
Jaf kept staring, "Blue eco is a type of refined ammo, though... You're the sage of bullets?"
"I have no idea what you're talking about..." Terris cocked his head and pursed his lips, "Blue eco is not a type of ammunition, and it's certainly not refined. It's a wild part of nature. Don't you know that?"
"... Uhh... not where I'm from... where... am I from...? Jaf looked to the right corner of his eye as he cocked one eyebrow, "... I can't remember..."
Both of them looked around in confusion, trying to make any sense of the situation, "Do you remember anything else?" Terris asked gently.
Jaf pursed his lips again, "Hmmmmm... Nothing's coming to mind... I think... I'm... a... a.... ugh... it's gone." he shook his head and looked down, "Sorry... Where am I right now...?"
Terris sat up straight again, tapping his staff on the ground, "Why, Jaf my boy, you're in Rock Village." He smiled, "You seemed to be of our kind, so maybe you are from around here somewhere. Even I haven't explored the entire island."
Jaf nodded, "I remember something now... I am from this island... but... something... happened. I just can't put my finger on it..."
"Well, you did hit your head very hard on that Precursor pipe. Maybe you have some sort of memory loss." Terris stood up, "I suggest you rest for the rest of the day. We'll talk more about this tomorrow." He smiled again as he began to close the door, "Sleep well." After closing the door Terris turned around, his face changing from sweetness to seriousness. He reached into his pocket and pulled out the pair of goggles, "There's only one pair of goggles like this... Mine." he looked over on the shelf to look at his own pair.
