Paint Job

[Neki]

The morning light was rich as the sun rose over the city. A few people were moving in the golden suntones as the rays slowly took grip on reality. The winds were warm and pleasant, for once not smelling of the usual city fog.

A young girl walked through the bazaar, on her way home. She carried a heavy bag, spray paint, decals and zoomer parts all misxed together in the heavy duty canvas. It was her goal to get this job done at ight while everyone was asleep so that no one would complain and try to stop her. She was out ow in the morning so that she had the supplies to do it.

Her small feet carried her on a well trodden path, leaving her mind free to wander. Neko, you’re a genius! That old zoomer will be great. Recently the young woman had purchased an old racing zoomer for next to nothing from a junkyard. With a little bit of bondo, a few parts and a paint job the thing would be ready to race. I just can’t have Evey or Rawling find out. They’d flit tacos! And that would be the end of any racing dreams for me.

She sighed as she made her way to the garage. Quickly she stowed the items away, wishing the day would speed up so that she could come back and get started.

With a last look she closed the door and took out her much used jet board to make the short ride home. She had to get inside and get changed for work. She thought about what she was doing, and it made her slightly worried and jumpy. She just wanted the day to be done with so that she could be back and working, That would put her nerves at ease.

Plans for what she was going to do flashed through her mind. The whole thing would have to be sanded down, and the rusted parts patched. The she’d have to streamline some of the original pieces to make it more aerodynamic. The gas and brake lines had to definitely be replaced, along with a few small parts in the otherwise sound engine. Some new pipes and wires needed to be threaded, and the chassi definitely needed some welding. And the wings. They were dented, scratch, and almost falling off. But the windshield was in perfect condition, and the seat was made of black leather. Neko smiled as she thought about the deep red paint she had bough and bright red dragon decals. Black swirls to go on the wings would give it a classy gothic look. This would be one job she’d never forget.

As long as the others keep their nebs out of my business we’ll be good to go! She thought to herself excitedly as she got dreesed.

She walked downstairs, quickly making a suitable breakfast of eggs and pancakes for Evey and Mick. It was better than leaving Evey to make ramen again. Neko shivered, Ramen everyday would kill her,
“ Be back after work!” She yelled up to evey as a though hit her. I wonder if Mick would help……

[Tatsu]

Tatsu woke up early in the morning. His mind boggled by the fact his daughter didn’t wake him up, instead his mind did. Unusual… He thought for the moment. He looked to his side and saw Nephra laying there sound asleep. “Hunny you awake?” He asked her softly, his sweet velvet voice reaching to her ear. No response. He decided not to wake her up and go out of their house in the forest. A nice walk would be good for him.

As Tatsu put on his cloak he made his way down the stair. The presence of nothing was relaxing for once. As his foot took on step on the downstairs floor Remi started to cry. “There it is.” He said with a smirk. Tatsu never liked giving emotions but when around family he was okay with it. He then made his way up the stairs. As he was walking he gave a loud yawn… something he would punish Remi for. Maybe tickle her a little.

The door opened and in the small Childs room, sitting in the crib was Remi. “Good Morning Rems.” He said with a smile. Remi gave the same smile back to him. She reached up for him to pick her up so he did. “You know you woke me up all week but today you decided not to? Being kind are we?” He asked tickling her tummy. She gave off giggles and laughter. It made Tatsu smile even more.

He would go on the walk with his daughter.

[Neki]

Neko slowlay made her way through the streets, going towards the library. It was a rather long walk, but she had the time today seeing as she was up early. She wound through the crowds of morning people, just thinking and letting he feet carry her wherever she went. She knew the way subconsciously, and that left some room for her mind to roam

So maybe Mick would help me. Or maybe I could go down to the garage later and see if there are any mechanics there I've sen before. I don't go down there as often as I did when I was younger, but that was a different time altogether. She sighed and continued walking.

[Altairas]

Footsteps echoed on the tops of the shabby metal roofs as the first light from the sun touched the dank city. A figure could be seen momentarily, the dark silhouette vaulting across the gap between two buildings. The mysterious figure appeared to miss, but only slightly, and disappeared into the darkened alleyway below.

From the alley a girl appeared, her golden hazel eyes casting a suspicious look at the crowded street before she joined the congested fray. Her brilliant bright blue hair stood out ageist the subtle browns and grays of the city and she couldn't help but avoid the eyes of curious bystanders. Almost there . . . She thought her eyes locking on the familiar looking dead-end alleyway that marked and end to her mission.

"Audra Negron?!"

Caught, should have used the other way. . .

Audra turned around her muscles tense, the palm of her gloved hand letting off a faint yellow glow, barley visible in the mid morning sun. " You called?" Her eyes searched over the lanky man that stood in front of her, and she couldn't help but relax her muscles and let out a sigh of pure relief.

"I hate to bother you but my son is a big fan of the races! Would you mind signing something for me?"

Audra gave a chuckle, the dim glow in her hand dispersing. " I don't normally autograph but I'll make and exception." She played it, trying to keep up her racing impression even while she was on the job. The man reached into his pocket and pulled out a small pamphlet from the last race as well as a small pen. Taking the pen she signed by her name, the penmanship sloppy and rushed. "Well there you go. Stay safe." She said handing the pamphlet to the man as well as throwing in small wink before turning and fast walking away, disappearing into the alley.

Within the alleyway she noted the underground symbol, her eyes scanning the rest of the alley for any unwanted guests. None were found, and immediately she stripped off the leather straps on her backpack, dropping it to the ground. As she flipped open the top and assorted amount of guns came into her view. She picked them out one by one stashing them into a small hidden hole for a underground operative to pick up.

As she finished she immediately checked her watch. New record! She recorded mentally with a smile, slipping back on the empty backpack. Now I just gotta get back and start practicing like that on the track. She mused taking a few steps into the crowded street, hoping that no she would not have another run in with a fan.

[Neki]

Lsot in thought Neko ignored the hudtle and bustle around her. Then something caught her eye. It was a screaming blue color, bobbing in and out of the crowd. She watched it stop and talk to a man. The people cleared long enough for her to hear the woman name and see her. Audra Negron. Neko fished through her memory as she walked closer trying to remember where she had heard that name before.

Ah, thats it! She's the big racer! I know her. Well, not really but I know of her. Maybe..... naw thats a bit far fetched. The girl sighed, dropping the idea of asking if she would help. She scrunched up her face in s trange way without realizing it, as if she were angry with herself. Suddenly the girl emegered from nowhere, right in front of her, and Neko sighed, deciding to seize the golden opportunity.

" Hey! Hey, Miss Negron!" She called in a low voice, not wanting to make a big scene. " Can I talk to you for a sec?" She asked. She wasn't sure what to say, and if Audra would agree or blow her off, but it was worth a try.

[Altairas]

Audra walked, cracking the joints in her neck to relieve her stress. It was nice to have the weight of the guns from her shoulders, both physically and mentally. With a small sigh, she let her eyes wander around the crowd, catching sight of a few red metallic suits bobbing in and out of the mass. Well it's not anything to worry about now, She reminded herself turning her attention back to the people infront of her. She did so just in time, quickly sidestepping so she didn't run into another woman.

"Sorry about that." Audra remarked continuing to walk, only turning her head when the girl uttered her name. "Uhh ya?" She side glanced at her watch, silently hoping that she could get to the stadium on time for a quick practice. I can make it. She promised herself as she stood in front of the woman, her eyes taking in the woman's appearance.

She was much shorter, and very thin. Her clothing was very formal and lead Audra to believe that she was heading somewhere for something important. Maybe she is some big mumbo- jumbo for a big company She thought briefly as she shifted all her weight to her right and ran her fingers through her hair.

[Neki]

Neko watched the woman fidget, as if something in her where on a timer and she wabted to go. Her thoughts were running rapidly, and she wasn't really sure what to do now.

" Well, umm, I know you're an awesome racer, and I was wondering if you would help me design a racing zoomer? I have all the parts and stuff already, but zoomers aren't my specialty." The words came out quickly, as if they were a bursting dam. She looked at Audra, wondering what she wa going to say, idf she was ging to tell her that that was a ridiculous idea.

[Altairas]

Audra listened to the woman speak to her, as she slowly dragged her fingers out of her blue hair. The words seemed to have exploded out of the girls mouth nervously before she finished and awaited Audra's reply. "Hey don't worry about it . " She said, cracking a half smile to the woman. " I need some work in the garage anyway. How 'bout ya bring it over this afternoon and I'll take a look at it and we'll work something out?" She finished her eyes glancing back down at her watch to confirm the time. I need something to take away from building those guns, maybe fixing up a zoomer will do the trick.

Audra offered out her hand to the woman to confirm the meet. "And uh, I don't know your name." She added with a small chuckle. Even though you know mine.

[Neki]

Neko smiled shyly, happy tht Audra would help. It gave her confindence and made her think thattthis could actually work. Then Audra asked for her nam.

" oh, i'm sorry! My names Neko Vallon. i work at the Haven City Library." She said, trying to think of something else to talk aboaut that made sense. She wasn't really so sure at the moment, ut something made her keep going. She needed to do something, and this was it.

" Sure. I'll come over after i get off from work."

Rawling wen through his newly found morning routine : Parkour. His eco had been developed with the utmost excellence but his physique has been suffering ever since we moved to Haven. So he picked up the sport and it fit him just fine.

He's was trying to determine what route to go through on a daily basis when a heartthrob caught his eye. He instantly stopped on a nearby roof top and admired in great excited "Oh my god oh my god oh my god! Its really her! Its really really her!!"[/i] He spoke in his mind while fighting so hard not to jump up and down. "Audra. Audra Negron!" He shouted with the utmost excitement.

Made is way down the building quickly by dropping from window to window until finally getting to the ground. "OH MY GOODNESS!! AUDRA!" He seemed as if he was about to fangirl... If he hadn't already... Anyone could swear heart were popping from his eyes.

He ran straight towards her almost like a wild man not noticing his sister was already there. He stop abruptly inches away from his first celebrity crush. "Oh this is a wonderful day! It's... it's.. Its really you!" His excited shouted were making people give him looks. Some laughing and smiling others thinking he was insane.
