Old Friends

Jace sighed as Isabel came over, Of course my luck, I swear if this ends badly...his thoughts went unpleasant. He watched as the marble hit the ground and he knew someone was on the roof, but he still couldn't see where. He watched Isabel walk over, ready to push her out of the way in case an actual bullet started flying down. He was relaxed but still ready. He didn't want to see someone get killed because of him, it had happened many times already. Then he heard Isabel call someone's name, Shinrah....why does that sound so familiar? Jace looked to the roof again to see the girl come out.

Shinrah smiled, moving silentl on the roof. She jumped forward, rolling as she hit the ground laughing.

" Isabel, you never were one to let me have my games. I wasn't stalking him. If he didn't want to be messed with he shouldn't have sat in an alley alone. I mean, I wasn't going to hurt him or anything. Much." The woman smiled, her red black hair waving slightly. She threw it over her shoulder and grinned at the two.

" So what are you doing out anyway? And what are you drinking now, because I want some." She leaned against the wall, eyeing Jace. She didn't trust him as far as she could throw a yakkow, and she couldn't throw one.

Jace watched as Isabel and Shinrah laughed together, he was still on edge. Wait, did she say Shinrah Marr?! Jace's thoughts went to the one day he remembered while he was at the orphanage. The sight of a small girl getting thrown out her grayish green eyes and black-red hair. He did know her. This was Shinrah?

"Shinrah....Shinrah Marr, you gotta be kiddin' me," Jace said quietly still slightly in shock that this was the girl who got thrown out for stealing and God knows what else.

Scott had been following a young woman that fit the description of Shinrah Marr. Underground is particularly interested in the girl for her performance against the KG. Scott was sent out to track her down and try to suede her to Underground. He moved quietly and unseen like a panther on the prowl. Through the shadows he stayed following this girl making sure that his suit could stay in the correct sync with his environment.

They finally reached a place. An alley of some kind. He stayed in the prone position as the girl jumped off the roof and began talking to someone. He was as flat as possible on the rooftop as he crawling towards the edge of the roof until his eyes just barely peaked over the edge. His suit was in full camo of the material of the roof and building.

The young man with her mention "Shinrah Marr". "Finally found you.." He thought.

He brought his finger to his ear to activate his head set in his ear. It beeped in his ear indicating it was on. "Hey boss. I found her. She's with a couple of people." He said quietly. Just enough to get his voice heard on the radio.

"Good. Make sure you don't lose sight off her. We need to get her alone so you can't talk to her so just stay on her."

"Gotcha.." He pressed his ear again turning off the headset. Now all he had to do is lay quietly and wait for her move.

Shinrah heard the beep, and her ears twitched. Someone had been following her all evening, and she was getting very tired of it. Why didn't people realize, it doesn't matter what amazing tech you have, it can't beat real senses.

" Isabel leave whoever it is alone. They've been taling me for a while. I've only jumped through this whole city for fun. Ya know? Just to see how good they are." She pitched her voice so it shook through the alley, and laughed. Laughed and laughed and laughed like there was no tomorrow.

" Oh man. Anyway, so your names Jace Dragomir? I knew someone by that name once. A very very long time ago too. Maybe eight or so years ago." She smiled and fingered the straps on her shoulder. She let them click as she looseened her gun, ready to shoot whoever was being so rude.

Fire and Rain! Why do people think they have to stalk me in the dark if they want to talk! I'd gladly sit down for coffee or something not so stupid.

Jace watched Isabel walk over, he had heard the beep as well, but thought nothing of it. He didn't care if someone shot at him, he'd simply catch the bullet, something he had always been able to do...Maybe because of the orphanage, all of those experiments had to do with something, I just know it. Jace sighed as his thoughts went back to the horrible place, when he realized where he remembered Shinrah from, the girl who had been thrown out!

"I only know of Shinrah, you were quite popular at the orphanage, until you got thrown out," he laughed remembering the day so well. Then he sighed because that was one of the few memories he had of his childhood.

Scott chuckled under his breathe. He took a look at his arm to examine the suit. It wasn't the correct camouflage. "Damn bugs... I'm sticking out like a sore thumb."

While still lying down he grabbed hold of edge of the roof and pulled himself off. He flipped forward to make his feet point downward then he let go of the ledge. Shinrah was about 7ft to his right.

"HQ was right." He said pulling of a rubber-like mask revealing his face and throwing it over his shoulder. "You are sharp, girl," He turned to look at her. He took out a cylindrical capsule from one of the pocket on his tactical vest and pulled a cigarette from it along with a zippo lighter. He lit the cigarette and put the light back into the tube before putting back into his pocket. "I guess I was careless to under estimate someone of your caliber."

"Was I hoping to get you alone," He took a hard drag, "But I see you're being reunited with your old friend. When you want to talk, my codec frequency is 152.16. I'm sure you can find a radio..."

Shinrah rolled her eyes and smiled.

" The last time I played with a radio I made it explode. A nice present for the KG. And I'm not having a reunion, just an unexped meeting with an old aquantaince I don't remember well." She turned, and thought for a moment.

" Beside, I don't search for people. When I want to find someone they know. Its just that simple. So if you're ever looking for me, watch your back. Shadows don't play fair." She gave a sarcastic wave, and smiled. So she had been popular before she was kicked out? Ha, it was so funny to her.

"Watch my back huh? Heheheh.... I like your attitude kid." He took another drab off his cigarette. He had a smirk from her comment. "Well if you want my offer you know how to find me. It inviolves a lot of action against. the KG if you're interested."

He took out the cylinder again, opened it and dropped the cigarette in it, to save it for later. He closed it and put it back into the pouch on his tactical vest.

His suit went from a grayish concrete pattern to its original color, an gray- black. "Tell then kid...." He turn around and walked out of the alley.

Shinrah rolled her eyes, and waved at him. She was annoyed now.

" Just so you know, I have a name, and it's not kid. Call me that again and things might get... unpleasant." The cold in her voice was worse than driving rain, and she smiled, and evil smile. It was just a normal smile for her, no matter how evil it may have seemed.

She turned back to Jace and Isabel, and pulled in a deep breath.

" Anyways. So I was popular? I didn't think that was possible since I like to make things disappear. break, or explode."
