Nightime Visitor

[Neki]

Shinrah opened her mouth for a moment to reply, but thought better of it. She knew Jaythen didnt channel any eco naturally. All the time he had tried to do something. She shook her head, moving the air slightly around her. A thought went to the one time she had seen him since he had been taken. Once she had seen him, and he was a completely different person.

"His dad was a blue eco user. I don't remeber if his mother was. She died before I met him. He couldn't control any eco then....but now....." She knew he probably could now because of what had happened to him then. What happened. She sighed. Everythign had seemed to go awry after that time.

"I don' t know what he discovered. I never went there on the map."

Leo scrunched up his face and turned his head slightly to one side as Shinrah spoke. She seemed very distant, and Leo felt bad for all the enthusiasm he had for the trip. He placed both of his hands neatly in his lap and took a deep breath, listening intently as she finished speaking about Jaythen.

“Well, that makes this both easier and harder.” Leo said his eyes turned downward and away from Shinrah’s direction in an effort to hide his excitement. “That means he went through without the use of eco, meaning that everything is untouched.” He spoke slowly and calmly, sounding very professional. “But it also means that there are places that he couldn’t have possibly discovered without the use of activated precursor machinery.”

“So more places to stick our nose in I guess.” He said cracking a smile, hoping that he had not offended Shinrah in anyway.

She brihtened up a bit. Jaythen had been gone for a long time. She couldn't blame him for all that was happening. The woman took a breath in and let it out, opening her gree n grey eyes. Things had to go better than this. Leo said there were unexplored places.

"Well then, lets get this right. As long as we have this handy dandy little map we should be okay." She looked at the journal with a quiet sigh and laughed.

Leo nodded, rubbing his hands together as if he had caught a chill. “Yup as long as he knew where he was going. It should come in handy.” He said, smiling a bit as she let out a small laugh. “And I have a few tricks up my sleeve when we get there.” He added his small smile turning into a sly grin.

Leo sat quietly for a few moments, his hand gently brushing the few strands of hair that intercepted his face. “Well . . . uh . . . since we seem to have this all planned out.” He said quieter then he intended, his head rising to come to eye level with Shinrah. “I think I should be heading . . . off.” Since my home is in need of some slight repair work.

She nodded, a pang of sadness rushing through her before she could control it. Why was she becoming so attatched? Why was she in a fair deal when she was used to....other arrangements. The whole situation still seemed strange to her. In fact, everything haad semed extremely strange lately. She didn't want to let Leo go without at least knowing he had somewheere to go. Well, no hurt in asking, Right?

"Hey, do you have somewhere to go?" Her voice was strong and casual, hiding the fear she felt. Was it just him, or the fact that she had broguth someone into her home. A place no one had ever been in before this. She watched him carefully, suspicion rising and falling in an instant.

Leo bit his lip, his heart giving a slight flutter as Shinrah asked him if he had somewhere to go. Well it’s not like you have some sort of plan or something is it? Where were you going to go? He asked himself, knowing that his bit of inner thought was just adding to the tension in the air. Straightening himself up and placing his hands neatly on the table he began to speak.

“Well I’m not exactly sure. I guess there is always the hotel. Unless you can suggest somewhere different.” His voice was purely businesslike, trying to keep some sort of formality in there final good byes. In the back of his mind he could still feel something tugging at him, a slight hope that the woman would invite him to stay at her home.

Shinrah rolled her eyes. Men. They never had a plan. A smile split across her face. She did have the spare room. There was a cot in it she had planned on using if she ever found Jaythen. Well, it always seemed like that was never going to happen. His face looked like he was trying to be plite, but she could see right through it. There was abslutely no plan behind those cloud eyes. She almost luahged, but didn't/ It wouldn't do well to upset her guest

"Why don't you stay here then. At leats until you get on your fett. You know?" She said in the same cool, light playul tone. Her eyes anced with how funny she though he was.

Leo cracked a small smile and looked fondly at her. How nice of the stranger lady to allow you into her humble home. He thought jokingly to himself, his smile growing a bit larger. " Thank you so much for the offer." He said politely, trying to cover up the slight relief. At least that means I won't have to spend the majority of my time in those bug infested hotel rooms.

" I would be glad to and I promise to only hold you up for a few days. " He continued, lifting his hand from the table and allowing it to comb the nervousness out of his hair. " And I will pay as much as you like for the room. I know I am quite messy."

A few thoughts went through her head. The loudest one was the thought screaming curses in her ear. Of course, like always she completely ignored it. That voice was probably the one that made the most sense but she had never listened to it and was doing just fine now. So thats what she had to show for it. Leo seemed relieved, and she was glad for that. After everything a little good couldn't hurt her. On the other hand, it could kill her. Well, there was always the option that if he ever betrayed her she would just kill him. But she's leave that for time to tell.

"It's no problem. It's not even possible for this house to ever get messy, so don't worry. I'm a bit of a neat freak." she admitted in a laughing tone of voice. She kind of like the idea that he was going to stay here. And why would she make him pay? It was probably her fault his house was wrecked anyway. She chuckled.

"Yu don't have to pay me anything. Just chill here." She told him.

Leo brought his hands back to the table top and folded them neatly. His mind thought to what it would be like living with another person, let alone a woman. Precursors, now that he thought about it, this was the first woman to ever invite him to stay the night and was serious about it. She feels sorry for you, nothing more. The harsh reminder sent him back to the conversation. " Heh complete opposites ." He said with a small chuckle and a nervous movement with his hands. How was he going to live with someone he had met on the streets?

" Just chill here. . . well sounds like a plan. . . Uh, do you think you could show me the room?" He inquired, sitting up straight in preparation to move about. Maybe he could think everything over with a bit of privacy. Who knows, this could actually be a good idea.
