Era|| Baron's Corruption
Name|| Genesis "Gen" Killenger
Sex|| Female
Age||
Baron's Corruption: 19-22
The Fall of Haven: 22-23
World Without End: 23+
Appearance||
Genesis is a strange sight indeed. She rises to a modest five feet and seven inches, and her weight is around one hundred and thirty-two (though that's speculation - never ask a lady about her weight, kids!) pounds. Looking at the numbers, Gen is unremarkable. Her frame is blessed with nice curves, but not it a 'head-turning' sort of way. If anything were to turn heads, it would be her hair - it's electric blue. Not blue-black, not navy, not even cobalt. It took several failures at achieving this shade (during which Genesis refused to be seen, though shrieks of fright were commonly heard throughout the neighborhood by those unfortunate souls who caught a glimpse of her work-in-progress.) She was probably compelled to this eccentricity due to her naturally subdued coloration - ash brown hair, and pale, almost pasty skin (spiced up by a wayward freckles here and there) and hazel eyes.
Gen's hard work paid off, however, and her hair is shockingly blue. If that weren't enough, her hair is styled oddly. Even as a child, her hair stuck up unnaturally, provoking much teasing from boys in the schoolyard. As Gen progressed into adulthood, she embraced her unruly locks and neatly spikes the bulk of her hair up. Instead of being teased, bypassers often mistake her for a man if she's dressed in heavy togs. Gen isn't quite sure if it was an even trade-off. Adding a girlish touch to her hairstyle, she has a total of five braids - one on the right side of her face, beneath a sweeping bit of bangs, that hands just below her chin. The left has three - one that often gets in way of her eyesight, and falls to the apples of her cheeks. A short, stumpy braid is behind the last, which is long and looped around one of her large, single silver-studded ears, and connected via metal pin, to her last braid. It begins somewhere in the back of her hair, beneath the swept-up bulk, and usually rests upon her shoulder. Each braid is tied off with small silver rings.
Though Genesis has varying attire for different occasions, she is most seen in particular ensemble - which is surprisingly tame in appearance. The bottom layer is composed of a light, cream-colored camisole, sans straps. Whereas normal people would layer this with a smart-looking jacket or vest, Genesis is daring. A thicker, dull, dark green layer - not entirely unlike a vest - is tucked into the top of her undershirt. It covered all but a hairsbreadth panel of flesh in the front, from her navel to the top of her trousers. These are dark, earthen umber in shade, and cut off at her knees. Her shoes, which are missing their laces due to some bizarre, unspoken incident, are this same hue, though accented with the same lighter green that accents her 'vest'. On her right shoulder rests something that couldn't be altogether considered a sleeve - in that same green. Her other shoulder is more protected; adorned with a large gunmetal disk, studded with some cheap gem that was passed off as a Metal Head skull gem. Her forearms are armored with a similar material - gauntlets ornamented with three metal rings on the outer edge.
An odd sarong-type skirt is tied around Gen's hips by the only bright bit of her outfit - a strand of bright blue threads, woven together and wrapped around her body three times. On her left side are three matching tassels of ridiculous size, and one more is on her right. In perhaps some wayward dream to one day be a Krimson Guard, a gray stripe is tattooed from her bottom lip to her chin. That dream, for obvious reason, did not come to fruition.
(Or you can save time and look here!)
Posture||
Genesis carried herself with confidence, though not entirely. She looks people in the eye, but is highly suspicious of others, and, thus, shrinks away when too much interest it given to her in public. In smaller, contained settings, Gen can be entirely sociable. Her gait is steady, albeit relaxed most of the time, and her back is always straight.
Personality||
Genesis, like her father, is naturally curious. She loves to figure out puzzles and new technology. Mainly, this just entails learning to use it. It's an unfortunate soul who lets her take something apart, because she'd not the best at putting pieces back together.
Gen seems to have low blood pressure, as her eyes are usually half-lidded. However, she will perk up when things get dire. Not that she'd be a great asset to a fight, mind you, but she knows how to look after herself. All those days dreaming and practicing for the KG weren't completely useless.
There is a generally cheery air about Genesis, amid all the gloom and doom that accompanies Haven City. She enjoys reading and gathering information.
As for vices, Genesis gets angry easily. Quite a few things, surprisingly, will set her off. Figuring out what they are and having hands left to make a list is the hard part. Don't provoke her. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.
Occupation||
Bookkeeper and clerk of "Lit' Known Facts" , Wannabee Fighter
Abilities/Skills||
Genesis has a near photographic memory, and she catches on quickly to new ideas and activities. She usually succeeds at whatever she tries (though she calls it quits quickly when she doesn't), though she excels more in certain areas. Like keeping and bartering information, for one.
Genesis isn't particularly skilled with weaponry, unless one counts a staple gun. She would love to pick up a weapon and become good at it, but Gen rarely has the time. Her father left her several of his favored armaments, but Gen hasn't had the heart to disturb them yet. The only thing of his that she keeps with her is his old shoulder plate.
Powers||
Blue Eco - Basic
Weapons||
"The Reckoner"
While such an intimidating name, one would imagine a weapon of robust power. In truth, Reckoner is a giant stapler gun. (You thought I was kidding). It takes two hands to hold, and Gen usually carried it holstered at her lower back. The gun can be adjusted for different sized staples, which Gen orders from a special office-weaponry supplier. Don't ask. They can range in size from that of a normal staple to a foot. Those staples are thick and heavy, and it would hurt a mighty lot to be caught on the wrong end of The Reckoner.
Relationships||
Joel Killenger - Father (deceased)
Micah Laurenson - Mother (uninvolved)
Story about them/History||
Genesis' mother was a tramp. Joel, an officer of the then-reputable KG, had one too many drinks after work and, well..You get the picture. Unlike most men in that situation, Joel knew that Micah "Diamonds" Laurenson would not care for a child. He convinced (read: bribed) her to have the baby, whom he took in.
Gen grew up following her in her father's footsteps. Both were very intelligent people, albeit not without faults. Right when Genesis reached the age where she could join the Academy to become a Krimson Guard, Torn left his post. Joel was one of his followers, and he joined the Underground movement. Like many members, however, Joel was killed on a mission. After relocating to a different part of the slums under the instruction of the Underground, Gen tried to build a relatively normal life. She began working at "Lit' Known Facts" (Literature Known Facts..What were they thinking?) and has been there since. Under normal circumstances, Genesis would probably have been fired for all her infractions. For Mar knows why, though, the owner has kept Gen on staff.
Someday, Gen wants to follow her father's footsteps and join the Underground.
