Well, it's official. The next game to the series is currently in development. Jak & Daxter: The Lost Frontier will be coming out for the PSP and PS2, probably in late 2009 and is being developed High Impact Games. Now, you may be wondering why I don't sound excited despite being a huge J&D fan. Well... That's because I'm not. For starters the game is not being developed by Naughty Dog, the founders of the Jak series. Second the game is coming out on a hand held and an out dated, dying system, rather then the latest mast powerful system. Finally is the following images:    As you can see, the graphics are far worse then that of the first J&D game, which BTW was made eight years ago. Personally I find that sad and disappointing. Alright then, my rant is done for now. |

Dude you forget that those images could be just test runs for the levels cause that is what it looks like to me personaly.

well another thing to think about. Its got pirates in it. Since when to pirates have anything to do with Jak?

They never said at which stage of development those screens were taken at. We can only hope that it was in mid-production. But considering how pore of quality they are you'd think that they'd specify that they're long from done if that were the case.
O.o Pirates? I never heard anything about pirates. Can you provide me with a link to that info?

that's odd the place where i had found my info doesn't seem to have the article anymore, which is odd for the site. They are a very big playstation release site, but anyways sorry about the pirate thing. I had been talking to my friend and she said something about pirates so it stuck in my head i guess.

well, whene i read the first few lines i was like OOHHHHH YEEEE FINALY WOOHOO. Then i saw the next few lines and the graphics seriusly dissapoints me.
What does those robots have to do with anything? and what is that strange thing on dexters head in the second pic?, seems as though jak and daxter are doomed, if this is what weve been expecting for so long im afraid to say i may not want a 6'th game of j&d to be made... ITS AN ABOMINATION I TELL YA

I waited years for this game to be revealed. I hoped and prayed that it wasn't a hoax. I watched the forums like a hawk and had to distinguish between facts and rumors. When I had the thread up on my screen April 1st, sure enough, something was there. "This has got to be a joke", I thought to myself. Later on that day, I checked out the supposed screen shots. I had a sinking feeling when I read that Jak's future was in the hands of another and not his original and rightful creators. When this happens, it's most likely the game is over. Lo and behold, the demo shots were staring me in the face. Beta graphics or not, the situation makes me want to vomit. Not to mention, the storyline sounds like the largest load of s***.
Pirates belong in Ratchet's world
Wasteland Marauders are the pirates of Jak's world

What has happened to the world of J & D? I honestly think thye are pics tooken from Ratchet and Clank just outfitted with Jak And Daxter. The guns on the pics look like guns from Ratchet and Clank.
EXACTLY! Who's to say that this isn't a crock of lies? Until I see this advertised officially, it goes in one ear and out the other. |

Until I see this advertised officially, it goes in one ear and out the other. Sorry to disappoint you, but it has been officially announced on the PlayStation Blog. It was actually on the PSblog where I first say the announcement on April First. Oh and wow, I just realized that the info about the pirates is on the blog as well... That's a bit of a fail on my part. |

That I'm quite aware of. It's a bit hard for me to believe certain things on forums. Whether it's on a reliable site or not, I always have my suspicions.
