I'll just delurk right here for a moment to take my time telling people stuff about Þór since I happen to be severely interested in Nordic mythology almost to a fault.

Þór (or Thor) is the god of Thunder in Nordic mythology, son of Óðinn and supposedly the mightiest of all Æsir with his famous hammer Mjölnir, his belt, Megingjörð and his iron gloves Járngreipir. He symbolizes strength and was among the most worshiped Ás of them all along with Óðinn.

Anyway, in the comic form Thor is pretty much the same (but not as badass as in mythology, he fished the **** Jörmungandur for SPORTS.), an Asgardian and pretty much all the same as in the mythology, but in comic form!

The reason Thor is blonde in the comic will always be beyond my grasp.

But yeah, feel free to slap yourself.

I'm guessing that the reason he's blond is because his 'human form' is a blond doctor. Dunno though. The story in the comics digress from his actually history a little, but I would definitely look it up and know as much as you can before the movie comes out. Don't be like the woman in my movie theater for Iron Man 2 who yells out, five minutes before the movie starts, "I didn't see the first one, please tell me what happened!" Things will then be promptly thrown at you, as they were her.

lol....thor. To me Thor always seemed like cross between a Valkyrie and a Viking. But yeah tho...seriously...I dont follow Marvel so much and im pumped to see this.... Lets just hope he's not saving whales.... : (

Oh common guys, of course i know who thor is in the mythology 0.o... who doesnt?.
I just never knew he was in comic, so instead of explaining who thor is in mythology could you explain who made a comic of him, and what is the comic all about .
