First off, I'd like to say I like the new look of DE. It's quite fitting and easy on the eyes.
Secondly, I like how we can change our names now. It should be a matter of etiquette, I think, that we shouldn't go and change our names every five minutes since that makes it hard for people to keep up with us. However, for correcting small things (like wanting to capitalize your username, for instance) or making a more permanent name change (if you have an identity crisis or something) then it's awesome.
As for bugs, well firstly I've noticed that the precursor orb counter isn't working correctly. It doesn't really seem to correlate at all with the post number, and seems limited to small amounts. Also it appears that they're counted in...Euros?
The last thing may or may not be a bug. I've noticed that in my PMs I can't check my last message. When I logged in, it said I had two, but I could only view one, from Lawna. The inbox says there are no more messages, even though the icon near the top of the home page still says there are, and it's driving me nuts! Am I missing something there, or is that a glitch?

We had to install a new currency generator since the previous one isn't compatible with the new software. We're currently looking into getting the Orb icon back on the counter.
As for it not calculating correctly, can you give us an example?
I ran into a similar problem where I had read all of my PMs, but it wanted to say that I still had 1 unread. Problem is that I have 800+ PMs, so going through and clicking every single one would have sucked. Luckily it turned out to be the first PM in my box, even though it was marked as read.

We're still working on the orb count, and the Euro sign was the default icon. We can't insert images in that spot, so we're still deciding what to place in that spot. Glad you like the name changing.  If you're curious of who a member is, hover your mouse over the users name, and his default name will show. As for the new message icon, I simply pressed the number, and it vanished. That's one thing that is happening on every V5 forums. |

Well, for example, I had 170 orbs before the upgrade, now it says I have no orbs. @princedee, that's helpful, especially if the member isn't an MVP, so you can't just figure out who it is by deduction (Like I did with Evey). And yeah, I figured that thing out with the message icon too, I was just wondering why it said I had two messages when it only showed one. Unrelated, but the announcement said that the MVPs are supposed to be helping out with approving purchases and characters now. How is that going to work? Also, as for the orbs, perhaps there's a way you can add a custom character to the forum? I suggest this because maybe you could use the precursor letter for 'o' as the currency sign. I'm going to try and see if we can get images to appear, like we did in V4. I doubt that we'll get it anytime soon, but it's worth the try. I'm going to try the blank character, and see if it works.

The currency is running on a completely new system, so everyone got reset back to zero orbs. We are currently in the process of resetting everyone's orbs, but this will take some time since we have to do this manually. Luckily we thought of this ahead of time and recoded everyone's orb counts before the transition. We will be discussing how the MVPs will help with the approval process privately as soon as we work out the kinks in the system. Basically we have finalized that the system will be in place, we just haven't quite worked out exactly how.  |
