Beginning Battle

[Neki]

The green light had prompted her into action, the dials flickering as the machine came to life beneath her. She moved forward, cutting past another racer, and another. Practicing in deadtown had done wonders for her speed. She felt like there wasn't much in this race that would get in her way. Of course, she ended up stuck being who she thought was Audra and someone with a number three on their zoomer. They turned the corner, Neko edging up on the other racer. She was NOT going to let them beat her. She'd beat Audra if she could manage. Though at the moment that seemed more like a dream.

As they turned someone behind her took the turn to sharply, and she could feel the heat of an exploding zoomer on her back.

[Pyro]

Pyrius saw the crash, but couldn't see who it was. All he knew was that there was a new person on the track, besides number three, and they were doing pretty good. He couldn't see Audra at the moment, so didn't know if she was still fine. The zoomers were at the straight stretch before the last corner before the end of the race. The screen above the beginning of the track flashed on, showing the racers still in the race. The zoomers were closing in. Pyrius view of the left column of names was blocked by someone in the stands. The zoomers were almost there. He still couldn't see her. *Where is she?*

[Wolfie]

Tonus looked onward towards the track. "Who are we looking for exactly?" Tonus asked Pyrius. Only noticing the wreckage and the screens of what happened sometime during the race. *Poor sod, never knew what hit 'em* Tonus then looked behind them, onward to the crowd, to check for any patrols. Making sure they weren't being watched.

[Pyro]

"Her name is Audra. We met her earlier, in the alley. She is the city's best racer, but at the moment she's in trouble. Since she's in the Underground, and we are aware that she's in danger, we need to help her as much as we can. She has blue hair, though I doubt you'll be able to see it under her helmet. Just watch out for the racer who seems to be better than others." Pyrius watched with anticipation, not sure what to expect when the zoomers turned the corner. He knew they were almost there. "Here they come."

[Wolfie]

"Well, in retrospect, YOU were aware that she is in danger. I had my own problems and was not aware fo it UNTIL you told me she is in danger. I have absolutely no idea what in the great precursor worlds she even looks like in the first place." Tonus got up shortly after he made his statement. "I'm going to get something to drink." He quickly departed towards the concessions, leaving Pyrius on watch.

[Pyro]

Pyrius watched Tonus walk away, then turned his attention back to the race. *Wonder what's wrong with him?* He thought about his day so far, how it was interupted just like all his other days. Was he ever going to get time alone with Katrina? *Guess that's what I get for joining the Underground.* Just then, something on the race track turned his attention back to the race. *Why AM I even here. She's not my problem, she knew the dangers of joining the Underground. Maybe Tonus is right. Maybe we should just let her take care of herself.* And with that, he turned and started to walk back with Tonus.

[Wolfie]

Tonus only got himself a drink, most like water, and headed back for Pyrius. Tonus was feeling something strange, as if something was there that he had encountered before, but shrugged it off and continued to make his way towards his friend. What is going on with me lately? I just dragged myself into a war I intended to stay out of, now.... now I feel like there is something here. Oh well. Tonus took a swig of his drink and continued to make his way throught the interior of the Arena.

[Pyro]

Pyrius met Tonus at the top of the arena stairs. As they neared each other,he saw Katrina not to far off. He also saw the KG triple escorting her away. *What is going on there?* He asked himself. Then he saw the look of terror on her face. He saw her look at him. <Help!> She mouthed that one word, and a KG hit her in the back of the head, forcing her to keep moving. The anger swelled up in Pyrius, more built up than ever before. He felt blue eco begin to coarse through him, but this time, it felt more powerful, stronger, with a strange feeling of control. "Wait here!" he told Tonus. And with that, he rushed off with the aura of blue eco pulsing around him.

[Wolfie]

Tonus looked back to Pyrius and stepped out side to see if he might need any help. His feeling came over him again as he felt a presence. "Well. Well. Well." A voice from behind whispered, the voice was a bit raspy and had a hint of slurs in it. My haven't you grown?" A metal head started to circle around Tonus. "Genesis." Tonus spoke calmly, watching the metal head's green eyes as the passed with each circle. "It's been a long time since I've seen you. Last time we met, you bit my leg good." Tonus continued to say. "And boy, it was good. Never thought an old encounter would end up in this wretched place." Genesis remarked, his barbed tail trailing Tonus' shoulders without a cut. "You have some nerve to show yourself to me again, Genesis, are you getting senile with that age of yours?" Tonus had asked the beast, but Genesis ignored it and kept circling his long time encounter.

[Pyro]

As Pyrius was running towards Katrina and the KG, he noticed something different about his powers. They seemed more controlable, more powerful, as if a hidden eco surge just revealed itself. He reached them within seconds. There were a rough six gaurds surrounding Katrina, a little too many for one girl. As he rushed them, he saw them turn their weapons his way. Jumping in the air, he twisted, pulling out his katana and bringing it down on a gaurd, the one in front of the group. Instead of a killing strike, though, he dug the tip of the blade into a chink in the KG's armor, causing the man pain, but not enough to lose conscious. Getting the gaurd into a choke hold, Pyrius spoke into his ear, "Now, your going to tell your men to step away from the girl, drop their weapons, and go back to their boss empty handed. If you don't, you won't be walking around the city much longer." The gaurd obeyed, not having much choice, and he and his gaurds started walking away. Pyrius began to turn back to Katrina, but saw the glint of a gun as the KG leader turned back to him. Pyrius jumped back just in time, the bullet sailing past him. For the first time, Pyrius charged up his yellow eco, and sent a ball of energy towards the surprised leader, leaving him with a lying on the ground with a desroyed chest piece and fataly burned chest. The other gaurd turned and ran, not knowing what to do with the new challenge they are now facing. Pyrius turned to Katrina, his blood still pumping with anger. As soone as he saw her, he began to calm down. Partlt because he was glad to see her safe, partly because of her calming abilities. "You OK?"
