The city was silent for awhile. Of course, it couldn't be silent all night. Haven needed some excitement at least one hour in the night. Too bad. Yvaine was just about to fall asleep when she heard the sirens. The cause of the waling was obvious. Yvaine jumped out of her apartment window, putting her hood up to hide her ears and started to jump across the rooftops. Yvaine's eyes caught creatures running through the streets. In the dark, she made out what they were. Mutants. The research facility must be having some fun tonight.
Yvaine slipped down to the streets once she got closer to the facility. The streets were bare since the scared, and tired, citizens of Haven city were hidden inside their homes. Yvaine could see a human running toward her in a rage. Yvaine didn't want to harm him, but she was afraid he would harm her. Dark Eco was sparking off of his body in angry flares. Yvaine bounced off the cover of one roof to the window on another back to the rooftop as she left the mutant pass her. It wasn't her job to capture the mutants, that was a Guard's job. She was just a spy.
The gate to the facility was open and Yvaine saw the head doctor on a cot. Many KGs were falling to the mutants and to be honest, Yvaine felt the emotion of fear. It was a devastating and horrible feeling. She couldn't leave though. The feeling of guilt would overwhelm her then. Yvaine decided to stay and help out. She wasn't sure how but...she would find a way.
A mutant started to run toward a KG. Another blast from a friendly fire, knocked him out and his gun came flying to her feet. Yvaine stared at the gun for a second. She had never felt a gun before, especially a KG rifle. They were supposed to be one of the most powerful guns in the city. Slowly, Yvaine surveyed the gun as she bent down and picked up the rifle. Yvaine didn't want to kill any of the mutants, but then again, they would just be placed back in the facility for more pain and torture. Yvaine couldn't have that. Some soldiers started to scream, "Shoot to kill! Shoot to kill!" That was all she needed to hear. The mutant that was coming toward her got a bullet put in him immediately. Her first gun fire. It made her heart skip a beat and the look on her face was almost as if she had just saw a ghost.
"Good shot," said a soldier as he gave her a slap on the shoulder. Yvaine kind of smiled. A compliment wasn't so bad once and a while.

"Right'' said Cardian as he pulled mair up onto her feet. "are hurt or something?'' he asked pointing to her hand over her eye. If she had been bitten she was dead, if she had been scratched she'd be quite likley to gwt a pretty bad infection, or she could be hiding something. "let me see miss'' He said, The first two possobilities where bad, the last one was suspicous. "it's allright just let me see'' he said again , slowly reaching for her hand.

Hmm. Nope. Mair quickly darted her face away from the man, her cheeks flushed, nervously trying to get her hair to cover her face. He would have to pry her cold dead hands from her face to see her eye, because she was unmanageable like that. She shook her head quickly to respond to the man's questions.
"I am not hurt or anything, Just. I got something in my eye, alright?"
As much as a good liar she was, this was clearly not the case. She put her free arm under the one covering her face, and looked at the man impatiently.
"So now what? Are you going to escort me out or something?"
Maybe if there weren't people around, Mair would take her hand off her face, but like hell she would do that surrounded by Krimzon Guards.

The silence of the night was broken by the sound of sirens. The frightening sound rang through out the city. Dajes could only look out the window of his dark apartment. The moonlight shined on the near naked Dajes. His gray skin having a dull glow in the light and his black veins shown through is if his skin was transparent.
Out of the window he saw the creatures. running through the streets like a band of wild men but these weren't human. From the second floor residence he could see that something was wrong with these people. Dajes didn't give it any mind just as long as those maniacs attack him but then his phone rang. He casually walked over to it and answered with a calm, "Yeah..."
"Dajes! Somethings horrific has happened! "It was a radioman for Underground. "A research facility had been breached and what he think are test subjects are killing everyone in sight!" "Is that right?"Dispite the events Dajes was really calm. "Do you know what facility it was?" "MK1"
Dajes suddenly began to care. "You're joking! Damn it! Anyone within your range you tell them to get people inside and barricade themselves in. They do not need to pursue these subjects only defend against them! Got it?"
"Yes but we need you here to explain what going on." "I'm on my way." Dajes hung up the phone and then his darkside came out to talk.
"What do we have here? Another experiment gone wrong? Heheheheh." It hissed. "Shut your mouth a** hole." He shouted at himself. "This isn't a game! MK1 was breached! You know what can happen!" "Oh I do. And I can't wait."
Dajes was once headed researcher for the Baron before his mutation. He knew every upcoming experiment for the next ten years. MK1 was one such research center Dajes didn't want to work in.. And this was why. But he knew everything they were doing and seeing whats happening now he knows what going on. He just has to get his people informed. No doubt the KG have already started to try and contain the mutants but it was only a matter of time before things get out of hand.
Dajes quickly dressed himself in his robes, put on his gloves, and gently put his mask on. But he needed to arm himself. But what chemical would effect these things? "You know which one. I hope you're ready to bleed." He hissing voice rang in his head. Unfortunately he was right. Only the black chemical would work on these things only because it actually had killing potential. He grabbed all the clear spheres and positioned them under his robes.
Dajes exited through his window so he can keep to the high ground. Some of the mutants noticed him and were running like the freaks they were to try to get him but they can't climb. Silly things. Dajes tried his best to stay hidden as he made his way to the deepest part of the slums to Underground HQ.
Moving on the roofs, Dajes had a good idea of the situation. It was bad. The virus was speading and more people were getting attack. He squads of KG fell before them. Dead bodies of mutant, civilians, and KG alike started to litter the street and one by one they were turning. Soon this will be a pandemic and Haven city will fall. All because of the Baron's ambition for power. "I'm sure that son of a b*** is sitting high in his tower just staring down at all of this!" Dajes thought to himself.

Cardian nodded, if she wanted to hide her face then that was her choice. ''come on'' he said, walking towards the fence line. He saw a man stand up from the ground. It was one of the soldiers from his guard squad, Jarvis, he had heard from a small blip in his ear earlier. It meant one of his men was dead. He was about to call out when Jarvis began to turn, his limbs usually short and covered in ropes of muscle began to lengthen, his skin usually blacker than the sky on a starless night, suddenly became a sickly Grey colour. His canines began to grow and his mouth could no longer contain them , they jutted from his mouth like scimitars, dripping dark deadly poison.
A massive burst of yellow eco shot from his hand and immolated another KG. ''oh S***, they never told me this could spread!, they only used non eco users, never said they could use powers, said they'd be too stupid'' he said. He turned to the girl, attempted to pick her up, sling her over his shoulder and get somewhere safe.

Dajes witnessed the dispatching of the KG mutant by its own comrade. Poor sods. They think they always know what going on. The Baron's plans with eco usage is more sadistic than anything anyone could every fathom.
This man needed to know. As much as he'd hate to admit it, KG were human too and they were going against the same enemy. Dajes stepped off the roofs and made a surprisingly soft landing next the to the body of the recently dead monster. He gave a quick glance To Cardian and Mair and proceeded to kneel and examine the carcass..
"Such an abomination... " Dajes said poking a prodding the body. "There's a lot of things you precious Baron doesn't tell you. I'm sure you know where the first subjects came from?" He looked up at the KG man, the eyes of his mask staring directly into his.

At this point, Mair was freaking out. Another one of those mutants had approached them, and the Krimzon Guard had just killed one of his own. To top that off, some dark stranger had jumped down to them and she was slung on his shoulder. What the hell. Mair cursed and tried to break free, while the stranger began talking about abominations, probably trying to piss off the Krimzon Guard or something. Kicking herself away to near freedom, she lost balance and landed on the ground with a loud thump. Okay, what the hell was she really doing right now? She needed information, top-file information. She needed to get out of this alive, not get arrested, and not get profiled by the Krimzon Guard. She needed to not get infected, and maybe get away with a precursor artifact. While this was going to be one hell of a night, Mair wasn't looking forward to it one bit.
Mair rolled around to get back to her knees, she looked back up at the stranger, wiping the dust off her clothes. Ahem-
"I'm sure we all know the answer to that, sir," Maybe the Krimzon Guard didn't but did Mair care? Nope. "But you really should be trying to stop the mutants than trying to aggravate a Krimzon Guard solider."
Mair felt the silence set in on her when she heard herself say that. Advocating a Krimzon Guard? Mair held her head accordingly, oh precursors, did she really just say that? She went into anxious mode and covered her eye again, staring back at the stranger.

This was out of control. At least, from Yvaine's point of view it was. This would have never happened if Jynx Killan was here. Honestly, Yvaine felt sorry and wanted the mutants to be free but then they would harm Haven citizens and Yvaine didn't want that either. The KG should step up in her mind. What were they doing? Pointing their guns up at the sky and firing them there? Yvaine thought she could do a better job as a soldier at this point.
Yvaine helped a soldier to his feet and returned his gun to him as Yvaine's gray eyes searched for a KG commander. Yvaine finally espied Cardian with two other people and a girl who was struggling to get away. Yvaine cocked her head. Is she with the Underground? Yvaine thought. After studying the girl from far away Yvaine decided she wasn't. She must have mistaken her for another agent.
Yvaine started to glide over the mess to yell at Cardian and tell him to get his troops together and fix this place up before the Baron has a total fit.

Cardian was a little freaked when the stranger jumped down. He hardly noticed mair scrambled off his shoulder. He heard what the stranger said. ''Yes i know where they came from'' he said hanging his head slightly. ''The prisons and the slums, even a few from court marshaled KG'' he bared his teeth slightly ''That arrogant ball of crap, our glorious leader the baron has the vaccine and probably wont share it''. As if by fate Cardians radio crackled ''+this is city command, all KG are to withdraw and regroup at the palace abandon all civilians+'' Cardians face turned white, City wide command? the mutants must have spread all over, and the command to leave the civvies that was unforgivable. ''+Squad Lyko here+'' his radio crackled again "+Did i just hear right+'' ''+why the hell are you calling me Lyko why not the colonel or the major at sector command+'' ''+colonels dead and the majors MIA with charlie platoon, sir as you are spec ops, your now acting commandant of this sector+'' suddenly a cacophony of voices roared through the speaker, all the squad leaders acknowledging his appointment.
"well that was unexpected'' He said. "+ all squads retreat to my house or the closest bunker to you, bring as many civvies as you can, retreat in an orderly manner, pair up with another squad or two and cover each other+" Cardian looked around, his house was the closest defensible position to them ''REGROUP'' he yelled and the KG nearby began to troop towards him. A few squads worth at least, ''right then, were gonna make our way toward my house, its the only place close enough for us to get and fortify reasonably quickly'' He turned to Dajes and mair ''you guys in?'' Then he noticed a girl walking towards him looking very annoyed ''what do you want''

"KEEP MOVING FORWARD!" Zrion bellowed. The sharp crack of a gunshot followed his shout, and one of the abominations fell in a pool of it's own blood. Another burst followed, courtesy of the man to Zrion's left, causing the head of another one to explode in a shower of gore.
The sixteen black-armored men of the 4th Special Operations Echelon advanced steadily in a perfect wedge, pushing the mutants further and further back down the street, firing their rifles all the while. Behind the tight formation, a few dozen civilians followed along behind them, fearfully looking towards the mutants in between casting paranoid glances towards the buildings at the sides. Behind the civilians, the dozen-or-so Krimzon Regulars they had picked up since their deployment watched the rear, scanning the streets with their blaster rifles, their trigger fingers rather tense.
Another wave of gunfire flew towards the mutant, sending the last handful of them to the ground. "That clears this street! Continue the advance towards Rally Point Alpha!" Zrion commanded.
The soldiers were quick to follow Zrion's lead, the formation swinging right and moving down 72nd street. Another massive force of mutants met them, but the soldiers didn't even break stride as they opened fire. The mutants screamed in rage and surged forward, eager to tear into the men, but the only reward they would receive would be 7.62mm bullets tearing holes in their bodies.
Behind the formation, the Krimzon Regulars opened fire, down 54th street, where another group of Mutants had been lurking. The Krimzon Regulars fought with perhaps a little less precision, but they were up the job, especially considering that they had guns and the mutants didn't.
The men continued fighting their way down the street, and despite heavy resistance, they reached the end without any further problems.
"Keep it up men! The stronghold is just up ahead!" Zrion barked. The men took a left turn, down 63rd street, the civilians holding closely to their rear.
63rd street was cleared of mutants, with the exception of hordes of their corpses, which Zrion attributed to the KG squad holding position at the head of the street, behind a wall of sandbags. "Hold your fire!" Zrion shouted towards them. "We've got reinforcements and civilians incoming!" One of the soldiers ahead shouted to another, and the garrison began moving sandbags out of the way, clearing a path for them to pass. The Echelon troops stepped aside, allowing the eager and relieved civilians to pass through the sandbags, into the relative safety of the KG outpost. Once the last one had passed, Zrion beckoned to his soldiers, who moved forward as well.
After the last of the soldiers passed beyond the wall, the guards quickly began piling the sandbags back up, quick to restore the defenses.
"Are you all that's left?" Zrion inquired, once everyone was within the safety of the outpost.
"Not quite." He replied. "We've got another squad watching the other side, a few dozen civvies, and a few wounded. I think we can hold them off, if we can keep supplies coming in."
Zrion nodded. "I can't help you with supplies, but I'll leave the Regulars we picked up with you. You look like you need the support."
The officer nodded gratefully. "That would be much appreciated."
Zrion cast a glance back towards the Regulars. "You heard us, you're to stay here and hold down this location. Good luck to you."
Zrion turned back to the men under his command. "Alright, I know we have orders to move towards the Palace, but we've been picking up radio transmissions from a Special Operations soldier nearby. He's got a few squads of KG with him and a lot of armed civilians. They're up to their eyeballs in the bastards, so we're going to go give them a hand. His name is Cardian Zane, and the location is about half a click from here. We're going to find him, and decide what to do from there."
He looked back towards the KG officer. "Can you spare us any supplies?"
The soldier looked reluctant. "A few mags, that's all we can afford. I'm sorry that's all we can offer you." Zrion nodded. "It'll do, once we make it to the Palace we can restock fully."
Zrion and his men went to the makeshift armory of the outpost, and the soldiers who were the lowest on ammo each grabbed a single magazine. It wasn't much, but it would do for now.
Now as well off as they would get, they moved through the outpost and to the other side, passing through the sandbag wall. "Alright, form up and keep to the center of the street! Stay vigilant!"
